Well this is a familiar scenario. One of the strongest riders get away and all the others are looking at each other. No cooperation and no-one willing to go all-in chasing for fear of burning all his matches before its too late. Been the story of this years classics season really.

That’s actually true. All of them decided on the exact same way

Exactly. I have no idea what people hyping him were thinking. I actually like Matthews ok, but he's never going to win here.
I mean, he came 4th here last year so it's not out of the question by any means
I always saw that as an outlier performance. Even then, it's not like he's going to beat Bala, Martin, Ala, and Martin and all the other top guys on that finish. Maybe one or two on a good day when it's raced easy but not all of them.
