Leopard get their biggest victory in their last ever race.

Nice for them, but still glad they're being euthanized.

That was my first reaction, but he won it fair and square. JVS got a gift, Goss got a partial gift, but Zaugg has won this fair and square with a proper attack and won by being the best man on the day.

Amen to that.

For once I am enjoying the NOS commentators, Ducrot I've always liked but Smeets wasnt as bad as usual :)

Harmon saying no-one can ever take this win away from Zaugg.

We'll leave that to the clinic.

I have to say, Harmon was much more tolerable before Sky. "I can't think of a better season to go out on"... really?

Smeets is always enjoyable in Lombardia. He can be annoying at times in other races. But I don't care about commentators that much.

Obviously they were riding for Uran but in the end Uran didn't have the legs to follow.

Well, Ducrot always has his few one liners and shouts which makes him very enjoyable, atleast for me.

Also only the second classic after MSR that isn't won by a Belgian. Talk about globalizing the sport, the oldest cycling breed in the world are still owning like never before :p

Ummm... Belgium had an AMAZING year in the classics, but I would like to point out Omloop (Langeveld), Hamburg (Boasson Hagen), Plouay (Bole), E3 (Canc), and various fall classics in Italy.

I agree that Zaugg won it fair and square, but I don't rate him nearly at the same level as Van Summeren or Goss. Not until today anyway.

Nice win by Zaugg. And that is the cycling season, folks. Let me go cry into a pillow.

Cry. You should be rejoicing at the greatest season you will ever experience for yourself.

Cadel won the Tour and Gilbert won the classics. That would be like for you if Txurruka won the Tour and Ruben Plaza won the classics.

And his reasoning that is not understandable to anyone but himself is always funny.

But yeah, some people can get very wound up over the commentators, saying they don't recognize the riders and all that. Both Smeets and Ducrot did never take Anton into account although he was clearly visible at one point. As a true Anton fanboy I should be angry about it, but I couldn't care less.

I think he got a top-10 on the Zoncolan once. That in itself betrays some quality. But that's also the only time I remember seeing him (apart from doing domestique work, obv)

It's either those guys, or mr. "everyone except the Belgians is suspect" Wuyts. The choice is easy.
