We're approaching the part of the season where the riders suddenly just don't have anything left in the tank, making it harder to predict. Del Toro has been all over the place for three months now; he's certainly one of the top candidates to be running out of gas, especially having done the brutal Worlds race. But anyone could blow up at this point of the season. Onley has been cooked ever since the Tour, so he's definitely one I don't expect anything from.
All over the place where? He has 4 of 5 and only faltered at Pantani where he pooped his pants getting 31st ...otherwise Italy is his country. He didn't do anything brutal at worlds, that was the Pog plan ,
Del Toro reconsidered and rolled in top ten, not toasted.
Pogacar punished himself, Remco more so but burying himself in an epic awesome chase Del Toro did a regular race for him.

Exactly. He has been all over the place as in he has been doing very well for a long time. Probably bad wording on my part, but that's what I meant.

I think Roglic is past his prime but today we will know if this is really true. He went to altitude, he is racing a classic suited to his ability, if he isn't close to win, he is "washed" IMO.
You're acting like riders are either in their prime or washed and it's like a certain threshold where riders lose half their ability from one moment to the next, and it can be based on a single one day race late in the season.

I'm not for one reason. A prime Roglic would beat anyone (including Del Toro) easily in this race. I will say again, easily. This is how good Roglic as an uphill sprinter is/was in these gradients IMO.
I can't see a scenario where Roglic isn't close to win and he is at his performance's ceilling (if we look to his career).
He prepared really hard for this block of the season. Can you tell me when was the last time he really did this? Most of the time, he was targetting the Vuelta. This year, he really practiced to be good in italian classics. Or do you think I'm wrong on this?

yeah, more or less, at least. Most years we get the final ~hour.

Last year RaiSport had early coverage for the first time, but the race started later back then, so it was a bit of a different story.

It looks like the estimated finishing time was wrong. They just started and will not ride 200 kms in 4 and a half hours in this terrain.

But it will still be just about 90 minutes coverage only.

Hi, who is broadcasting this ? Is there any way it can be watched for free like through a VPN ? I remember we could do that for San Sebastian for example as there were some free broadcasts in some countries.

Rai2 is supposed to be streaming it but I have a hard time navigating that site, especially once google starts to translate into English. Strange that Tiz isn't listing it...

I've made an account on Rai, so will give Italian commentary a go. I'm hoping SBS will have Lombardia, as I enjoyed their Vuelta coverage. I didn't realise that cancelling my TNT subscription would make watching races such an adventure...!
