Nice win for Skujins. And awesome celebration too

Agree 100%.

Easy 3rd for Caleb but again, it looked like Sagan wasn't even trying and clearly, he was unwilling to drag everyone to the finish line.

Sprinters didn't have any teammates so nobody wanted to chase. Nothing new. Anyway, I'm surprised Ewan got over these climbs. Wasn't he supposed to be a Kittel like sprinter who gets dropped on speed bumps?
Well, the pace slowed somewhat as they neared the top (the group was max 15 riders with Sagan hanging in the back), so he probably got back to the group after that. But still, it's probably his best climbing performance ever

I miss the old Tour Tracker, with the live video and an overlay of every important rider's position at all times. Felt like Buck Rogers tech in a cycling world still seemingly stuck in 1970s era CRT-honed graphics.

At least it's still free :(

Btw if you're region-locked then a VPN will almost surely work, been meaning to try it on Eurosport's feed assuming it's free as well. I'm not opposed to paying but they probably don't accept money from region-locked places anyway.

Eurosport will take anyones money they dont care where it comes from. I had a subscription til a few months ago (in chicago) that I used with a vpn but the player for me has been useless all year. Takes 5 minutes to load, plays for a minute then gives out and u gotta reload it for another 5 minutes etc. Last year it worked perfectly tho.

The stage that Ewan one at the TDU was on the lumpy side - When I looked at the profile thought there was a chance that Ewan could get to the finish - Think there is a similar type of stage early in the TDF.

Stage 5, to Quimper. But that ends with a 400m @ 10% wall.

Now this - you mean ending third in the Tour of California, with its amazing field of riders, all in peak condition?
Extrapolate from this at your own peril.
Admittedly I didnt watch the stage, but I had never expected him to survive these kind of hills this close to the finish.

What the hell was that Skujins?
Not the winning, that was awesome. The... "dancing", or whatever you wanna call it.

The celebration was good too - great to see how much it meant to him. I enjoyed watching through the podium stuff and he was having a great time.

They were 31 in the group, so it wasn't ridden especially selectively.

But if you look who were in that 31, it's still surprising to see Ewan there. Not like they're all great riders, but vast majority of them are sort of climbers/puncheurs or very versatile riders, like Dillier, Sagan and Guerreiro.
