Thanks for the reply Issoisso.So what do u think happened?I know Pellizotti is more of a climber?but i also thought he was ok for Krono rides too?What does this mean for the Giro?>?

He is fortunate the chronos on the first and last day are relatively short (less than 24k total). He should be fine for the TTT and the uphill to Plan de Corones, which he won two years ago.

The same Arco course as last year, when Kloden won. Pellizotti just seemed to be slow. Bet he'll be fine in a fortnight.
First of the MTF's today, so at least we know that the air will be clean!

Someone is texting updates on their official twitter. In brief Italian They listed the 13 escapees by race number. The first hour averaged 42.2 Km/hr

i understood it as the average speed of 42 up to that point, slightly over two hours into the race.

but that reckoning, the escapees should about midway to the top of passo del brocon, then down for 15 kms and onto the final mtf of the day.
