I am really torn up about this result, I have to say. Vino, Basso and Ricco are three guys who ride aggressively and are fun to watch, and I was a big fan of all three (especially Basso) before their respective falls from grace. I want to be glad that they are back racing and doing well, but I can't help but feel that it's a sign that the bad old days are back.

I hope that it will become clear to some people here that doping has a very much overrated effect and that if everyone rides clean the same old riders will be on top again because they are often the most talented. do you really think without epo pantani would not have won the tour in 1998 if anyone rode without it? since 1997 where they put in the 50% barrier for hematocryt there's not much effect epo has when there's only few % to gain or lose. before 1997 results were often totally ridiculous when you had untalented guys like riis, ugrumov and bobrik riding with 65% hematocryt so high they were being woken up in the middle of the night to ride on their bikes or else they would get blootclots

Pantani was caught out by the testers in 1999 because he was not given enough time to dilute his blood. There was more than a few % to gain post 1997. This should be in the Clinic.

Ricco rules!!! Too bad he won't be at the Giro.

Stop making these statements on this side of the Forum. There is a place for them in the Clinic. You will have a lot more input to your remarks which I find them flawed.
Thanks.

Simoni @ 1:28
Pellizotti @ 1:39
Rujano @ 4:04

Not surprised with Franco after yesterday's TT, but very surprised with Rujano's performance.

Just watched the race, Vino attacked and Ricco followed they got away, but the group got together 300 meters before the finsh, and Ricco outsprinted Vino

I am starting to think that Vinokourov has a good shot at a Giro podium

I am starting to think that Vino has a good shot at Liege. This could be the opportunity for Contador to win Vino's support in the Tour by burying himself to help Vino win LBL.

You can watch the highlights on cyclingtorrents.nl (at least from the first stage, don't know if the second stage is up yet).

True. It will be interesting to see if they use the Saxo Bank/Schleck Brother tactics against them. Sunday should be very interesting.

Yay 6th!!!!!

He's going to be handy for the giro. Well done to him. Behind some quality opposition. Just because bertie couldn't doesn't mean you have to shut down everything I say!;)
