Leif Mortensen on Danish Eurosport was talking about a 100 meter elevation during the last 2 k, which would make it an actual climb. But he didn't sound too convincing, he's probably got the same info as the Norwegian commentators (and everybody else).

As to who is the fastest guy in the break, normally I'd presume Oscar Gatto, but as he's spend a bunch of energy already - and the finish is uphill - this should fit Visconti perfectly.

Thanks. Admit I have never heard of the japanese Skil, might be the fastest man in asia for all I know, but still hope and think visconti. mostly, though, I hope for a good, watchable finale, like the last ten km yesterday, which was great.

Tejay keeps trying to get away but he can't drop Visconti. It's going to be those two, Moncoutie, Cheula and the Skil rider contesting the win.

Visconti just too strong, Tejay second, Moncoutie third. Those three will fight out the GC tomorrow.

Taaramae has just sat up.........
Tomorrow they peak at 1800 metres, so another killer day, before another long, long downhill.
Great stuff, now off to the BP!:)

Van Garderen is looking real good, i knew he had promise, looks like he's realizing some of it with HTC

On another note, it's a real shame that ISD isn't invited to the giro. Between rujano going for GC and the always aggressive visconti hunting for stage wins they could have had a real impact on the race

Cofidis came to Turkey for training kilometers and possible stage win. For instance Taaramae was last minute replacement (he canceled vacation) due to the injuries and illnesses of teammates (and still Cofidis has only 6 men in race instead of 8).

After yesterday, I heard that Cofidis was very-very disappointed, instead of stage win what they wanted, they got GC lead, what they did not want.

I knew they were struggling for riders. Didn't they have to scratch somewhere?
Anyhow, thanks for the explanation. The Eurosport commentators could have done with that info, as they were clueless.;)

This has been a pretty good race so far. Thought Moncoutie could've won today if he attacked a bit earlier and to the other side of the road though.

I agree...great race so far. Good course, very aggressive riding...beautiful country. I wish Yukihiro Doi had pulled something out...that would have been beautiful for Skil and Japanese cycling!!

Yep. I was a Doi Fanboy (Doiboy?) today too. Would have been great for him to get a win, but just didn't have the kick.

how good is Tejay van Garderen going to be? He is having a heck of a tour (yeah I know it is only the Tour of Turkey) but the guy is only 21. This guy has some potential.

Still, that was one tough 209kms.

Today's stage reaches the race's roof and will be heavy going. Looks even harder (and longer) than yesterday.

That's a big decent!

He did good in Algavre too where he finished 9th overall !
He sayd that he wanted to win the Tour de France (who doesn't ?) but I realy think that in 5 years I will target Grand Tour. Today he still has to learn because he makes to much mistake but he's only 21 ...

Hey... It's stage 18 (I think) of the tour, Peyresourde, Aspin, Tourmalet and Aubisque, followed by 60km of boringness.

This is going to be a tough stage for ISD, they worked some of their guys really hard yesterday and Cofidis has managed to get a man in the break of the day.

All the climbing today has proved anticlimactic. The whole bunch looks to have made it over all of the hills without much trouble at all, looks like a sprint finish is on the cards, although if previous days are anything to go by there will be plenty of late attacks too.
