Gesink was 50 seconds behind Valverde on the top of the climb, he finished at 46 at the finish

Must have ridden a helluva a downhill and final part.
Just like I said, that's probably what we'll get to read on the Rabo web site as well. Maar wat koop je daarvoor?

Why doesn't Piti just eat a gun and put himself out of his as well as our misery? As guilty as hell, about to be suspended, supposedly off the "active"-list at Caisse. Why even give him a mention? Saving up for his pension-fund???

Think positive. At least I can't deride his downhilling skills this time :D

Yip..... he is becoming the 'complete' package - falls on the climbs and the descents :D

Nothing as always.

It's just incredible it happens to the same guy everytime. We'll all end up as ACF94, as said before. Gesink is just Evans, version 2.0

No no, Gesink isn't a total A-hole.

an improvement in personality, same rider
He's more Fränk Schleck 2.0.

Good news BTW, he fell on the descent, rather than the climb. Same spot as Txurruka. Now that's the proper place to fall.

There are more differences

Evans has more stamina and a much better sprint.
Gesink is arguably the slightly better climber right now and will likely be a much better climber with time.

Don't know about the stamina. The longer and tougher, the better, for both Gesink and Evans.

Hey, at least you can look forward to him winning the Worlds in a decade then!

Ah, who am I kidding, Gesink will never win the Worlds.

As for Sky, I really hope that Wiggo was just treating this as a training ride. If his performance here is representative of how he is actually going right now then he has a lot of work to do before the Tour. He does tend to do this, though, at the Giro last year he rode hard on some of the early stages and climbed pretty well, and then decided to save himself for the Tour and lost loads of time. I hope he doesn't do that this Giro though, I'd really like to see him aim for the podium.

according to the Rabosite, he fell on the same place where Txurukka declared his love for tarmac.

Or tarmax, as they say in Pais Vasco.

haha, that's a good one!

On a different note, what a perfectly timed and sticking attack by Rogrixuez. He climbs walls like Spider man in his young years!

(with great power comes great responsibility)

Horney stuck to Sanchez's and Valverde's back wheel like peanut butter to a cheap sandwich

Been wondering the same thing about Wiggins, where the F is he? IF he can't climb in the Basque with Horner, Sammy Sanchez and Valverde what makes him think he'll compete with Contador.

Proving that Dekker Tifosi IS the Kiss of Death champion.

Some serious, Levi-like wheel sucking, today.
I'm amazed that so far, he hasn't gone road surfing, like Frankie Schleck and Holland's answer to Mauricio Soler.
