At kilometre 81, the gap to the two leaders is coming down. Roy and Malori have 3:35.

To initiate some discussion, what do people view Hagen as?

An "All-Rounder"?
A Classics guy who can sprint?
A Sprinter who can ride Classics?

It seems he's used for a variety of roles.

I view him as a stage hunter, who can win on a lot of different terrains, sprints, uphill, intermediate mountains, time trials. In theory you would think somebody like that would be good in the classics too, but he has yet to prove that.

Except from winning Gent-Wevelgem at 21, of course. Since then he has been injured every spring.

Garmin and HTC both have one guy helping Sky with the chase and the gap is coming down pretty fast now.

Ebh

While EBH is only a reasonable chance ftw today, my guess, he will achieve at similar levels to Gilbert Vino Evans.

I think that today he is an "All-rounder", pretty much like Hushovd at young age. Decent TT, sprint and climbing. I think he will evolve into pretty much the same, but hopefully a bit more aggressive. An OK sprinter the next couple of years, and then go for the classics, maybe more focus on the Ardennes. Dont think he will be Gilbert material anytime in the future, though..

Yes some equated EBH to a new EM. He has not got there (yet and he may not) however he still demonstrates plenty of promise (more than just potential).

Did you expect Gilbert to be Gilbert material at 24?

Maybe Hagen should focus more on TTing. After very little training on the TT bike 'cause of his fractured ribs from the Scheldeprijs-crash he still got third yesterday. He should go for the TT race at the world champinoship. Better chances there than in the roadrace.

No.

However he too demonstrated promise. Although not as much EBH does currently (IMHO :D)...Not to say that EBH will exceed Gilbert.

So what you're trying to say is that you have no clue at all? :)

The French don't mention the leader of the race? Weird.
