An "All-Rounder"?
A Classics guy who can sprint?
A Sprinter who can ride Classics?
It seems he's used for a variety of roles.
Except from winning Gent-Wevelgem at 21, of course. Since then he has been injured every spring.Lanark said:I view him as a stage hunter, who can win on a lot of different terrains, sprints, uphill, intermediate mountains, time trials. In theory you would think somebody like that would be good in the classics too, but he has yet to prove that.

fezzer said:I think that today he is an "All-rounder", pretty much like Hushovd at young age. Decent TT, sprint and climbing. I think he will evolve into pretty much the same, but hopefully a bit more aggressive. An OK sprinter the next couple of years, and then go for the classics, maybe more focus on the Ardennes. Dont think he will be Gilbert material anytime in the future, though..
boomcie said:Did you expect Gilbert to be Gilbert material at 24?
JA.Tri said:No.
However he too demonstrated promise. Although not as much EBH does currently (IMHO)...Not to say that EBH will exceed Gilbert.
