If anyone needs an increasing in knowledge and perhaps remove the giant wall in front of your head that causes your shortsightedness it's you ;)

Sorry if i took it too far. Just want to inrease your guys knowledge of cycling, i 'll try to keep a bit calmer in the future, promised:cool:

Even if our knowledge of cycling needed improvement it wouldn't be from the likes of a bigoted pompous internet forum poster. Maybe you could learn something from the rest of the posters.

There's nothing wrong with a difference of opinion and an ensuing discussion. However, with you it boils down to the way you want to bring your arguments across. That way you are bound to elicit such reactions and in turn create more enemies than you'd like. Think about it.

I apologise for this being a fantasy cycling question (I know there is a specific forum for that elsewhere) but as we are frantically debating the prologue I have two questions:

Sprinters: Farrar vs. Roelandts - who will do best, will either grab a top 10/20?

Same question again:

Climbers: Zubledia vs. Uran?

Cheers!

Uran without any doubt

Roelandts or Farrar will be close but I'd go for Roelandts

Bavarianrider, Germany's answer to El Pistrollero.

El Pistrollero is kinda annoying, but Bavarianrider is very annoying. He acts like an troll, but the worst part is that he doesn't troll. He's just plain stubborn.
I'm happy people have different opinions, but usually when someone has an opinion and nobody agrees with him and about 20 others disagree with him then that person should conclude he is wrong.
Bavarianrider on the other hand......

Nah, I want Lars Boom to do well on the road because I'm a cyclocross fan.

Although that won't stop me from making jokes about him during the classics. :p

Boom can definitely win the prologue. He won it in 2009(probably 2010) or something @Paris-Nice. A race I place higher than the DL.

If there's something Boom has shown a lot of promise in it's prologues and medium length time trials. He also won the Qatar prologue and finished second in the T-A time trial this year.

edit: forgot about his knee problems. We'll see how he does then.

So a pertinent question then...

Boom vs. Zabriskie?

Boom... the 'prologue specialist' - but suffering form knee problems/lack of training

Zabriskie... Bang on form having won the US TT champs just a few days ago

Question marks over both if you ask me. I would lean towards Boom. If you could choose him I'd go with Phinney.

I wouldn't bet on Boom when I just read papers that he mainly rested and did no training after California up until this past weekend where he started training again.

But then again, Boom is so unpredictable I honoustly have no clue how he will fare

Well, Westra won the prologue in ToB and his form was pretty crappy there. So, perhaps he can do good at the prologue and "suck" for the rest of the Dauphine to ride into shape for la grande boucle.

You must be confusing you guys, with yourself, and Boom, with Martin. Because that's what you do

It's generally known that he had knee problems.

Let's be honest, do you think if they are all at 100% Boom would have any shot against Martin,Cancellara or Wiggins in that particular prologue?

Definitely. Maybe not Cancellara, the other two: yes. A few more corners would work wonders for Boom, but nonetheless.

Not against Cancellara, at 100%, nobody has a chance. The other two? Why not.

Yes, especially against Martin and Wiggins. Cancellara in Tour shape is unbeatable in a prologue.

1 Lars Boom (NED) Rabobank 10'56"
2 Jens Voigt (GER) Team Saxo Bank + 3"
3 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Team RadioShack + 6"
4 Alberto Contador (ESP) Astana + 6"
5 Peter Sagan (SVK) Liquigas-Doimo + 10"
6 Xavier Tondó (ESP) Cervélo TestTeam + 10"
7 David Millar (GBR) Garmin-Transitions + 11"
8 Luis León Sánchez (ESP) Caisse d'Epargne + 12"
9 Roman Kreuziger (CZE) Liquigas-Doimo + 13"
10 Samuel Sánchez (ESP) Euskaltel-Euskadi + 15

Oh and this:

1 Alberto Contador (ESP) Astana 11' 05"
2 Bradley Wiggins (GBR) Garmin-Slipstream + 7"
3 Luis León Sánchez (ESP) Caisse d'Epargne + 9"
4 Tony Martin (GER) Team Columbia-High Road + 11"
5 David Millar (GBR) Garmin-Slipstream + 14"
6 Joost Posthuma (NED) Rabobank + 18"
7 Sylvain Chavanel (FRA) Quick Step + 19"
8 Antonio Colom (ESP) Team Katusha s.t.
9 Vladimir Karpets (RUS) Team Katusha + 21"
10 Rémi Pauriol (FRA) Cofidis + 22

So you are saying Cance and Tony at 100% wouldn't beat Voigt by more then 3 seconds?

What race was that?

Paris-Nice prologues 2010 and the last one is prologue from P-N 2009.

TdF prologue 2004:
1. Fabian Cancellara (Switzerland) 06:51
2. Lance Armstrong (USA) + :02
3. José Ivan Gutierrez (Spain) + :08
4. Bradley McGee (Australia) + :09
5. Thor Hushovd (Norway) + :10
6. Oscar Pereiro Sio (Spain) + :10
7. Jens Voigt (Germany) + :10
8. Christophe Moreau (France) + :12
9. Bobby Julich (USA) + :12
10. George Hincapie (USA) + :12

Jens Voigt can do good prologues.

Well solid result for Tony there. Neither is he at 100% in march, nor had he hit his time trial prime in 09.

Pretty solid result considering this.

As if Boom has already peaked in potential. Yet he beat Contador, David Millar, Luis Leon Sanchez and Leipi.

You know, Boom is younger than Martin and started cycling on the road(fully committed) way later than Martin.
