It will depend on how hard they race on it imo, softpedalling ==> Boom keeps it

I think that final climb has a couple of quite steep kilometers, don't think Boom is going to keep it.

has never been a great TT'r (w/out the riis juice I mean).
Even in top form the guy is gonna lose time in the tt at the tour.

Stage 3 is gonna be a big indication on where everyone is at.

And JRod has been known as a great TT'er when? And he just finished the Giro for chrissake. I wasn't expect anything special from Basso, but I certainly expected him to best a guy who was just competing for the overall at the Giro not a week ago.

To quote Basso: "I don't have bad form, I have no form"

The crash was quite bad and he hasn't been able to train properly in quite a while

The giro to dauphine is somewhat possible to hold your form. But not for long.

Anyway Jrod had nothing to do with my post. Other then your comparison he has nothing to do with basso, it was an ok ride for him, but in all honesty not everyone would have gone hard today. Maybe basso didn't either. He did say he had zero ambition.

People have awesome form after doing the Tour and the Vuelta. I don't see why we'd expect different from the Giro.

Indeed. And Rodriguez seemed to ride better during the last week of the Giro.

For others California was the hardest race they did in quite some time and to me training is no racing.

Incredible result for Boom, one week of training and BOOM, there he is again. Although this is probably based more on talent than on form.

I don't expect him to hold the jersey for very long, because of those very same form questions.

yeh Boom isn't favourite for the prologue, never shown anything against the big guns  thanks everyone.

(didn't realise it was on this early, but I may as well brag).

Yup.
Bavariantroller ducks for cover.:)

I'm a bit annoyed having backed up the general consensus on here,
to have picked goes Badley Wiggins, elsewhere.

Well the track was tailor mad for him. But anyway good performance by Boom didn't think he would be able to do this.

How was the track tailor made for him? If it was, it would have been on dirt with a bit halfway through where they have to bunny hop, then dismount and run over some stairs.

Thanks to you and others. I guess my expectations were a little off base then.

Tailor made? Boom will never get a harder 5km course (hill + two big straights). He is top3 under 7km, no one can dispute that.

Bavarianbiggot is obviously just clasping at straws... but to go straight out of the start up a hill, I don't think there's anyone in the peloton who could do that as well as Boom.

What an absolute clown you are, time to change your avatar I guess.

Bavarianrider said:
Yep but this course in the Dauphine isn't your typical tricky city curcuit. So no chance for Boom.

If he should finish ahead of Tony a " I love Lars Boom" T shirt will be my avatar.

There's some keen insight and a little bit of a back hand to the Cali, but many will do just the same here. I doubt riders like JBraj will target a win here. Evans is a logical choice for the GC. He's less likely to dose his efforts and BMC need a result. Tomorrow's stage, the TT and last two stages seem favour him.
