When was the last time EBH did a good ITT ? - Bayern-Rundfahrt but before that?

When was the last time EBH did a good time trial over 35km + ?

Cause I can´t remember yet people seem to pick him top 5. 15 - 20 I can see
Well for once he was third here last year in a time trial of the same length...and he's in much better shape this year.

2nd in Chrono des Nations, and 3rd in Dauphine ITT were both good time trials over 35km+ last year.

Ok Thanks still think 15-20 with this field see how I go with prediction.

All GC tour riders will go all out unless it rains, they will want to have good reading before the tour.

add DZ and his Nuts
Tony

and few others should be a fast day.

When was the last time he rode a longer time trial at full gas? He is generally told to save himself for upcoming stages. He has done very few in the last couple of years.

1st Qatar 2010, 18.6km
3rd Dauphine 2010, 49km

15-20 is extremely unlikely as that would require a bad day and if he's got a bad day he has no reason to push on as he's out of the GC. On a normal day he will be around 10th to 2nd.

He was fifth in Oman (19 kms) and sixth in Eneco last year (17 kms), but you're right - he doesn't really have a good result in a longer ITT. The only exception might be the top 10 in Tirreno-Adriatico in 2009.

Edit: Forgot last years Dauphine, my bad.

Strongly agree on the Wiggins assessment here, think Evans tt has regressed an awful lot since 07, dont think he ll perform, if Gesink is going all out id back him to top 3 on this lumpy profile if his form is good

No, maybe 10th in the worst case. But not 15th, he can do better than that.

It'll be interesting to see how the conditions change over the afternoon, it could be the case that whoever gets lucky on the weather will have a huge advantage.

Gesink lost time again yesterday so don't think he will play any role today.

I don't think he will either, but not because he lost time yesterday. He's been riding like a tourist, just getting the miles in.

I was thinking about that, but I don't think he quite will... Especially if they go a bit easy in the rain as they don't want to fall.

Now they even say it's going to be dry from 13:30/14:00 on

So a big chance early starters like Martin and Boom have terrible conditions and won't win

Nope, because today is a test for him.

Not that hard to understand the concept really. Don't go into the red zone in most of the stages except the TT and 1 of the weekend mountain stages

I doubt if Evans is particularly concerned about the form of Wiggins, Zabriskie, Cancellara, Martin or other time trial specialists who will be no threat at all to him in the Tour. Why would he care if those guys put minutes into him in an ITT as long as he's performing well relative to the real GC men?

I'm not too sure about that. Van Houwelingen was rather vague about their aims for today's TT. "Get to know the course in a relaxed condition" and that sort of thing.

hopefully it isn't wet when the tour guys hit the road, because I was looking forward to getting an indication of where everyone is at.
