Basso was with the first group before the second crush at minus 2km, so they should neutralize his time

he crashed in the 2nd group.

lost time. Unsure where he ended but it wasn't in group 1

If there is no 3km rule I apologise to the Dutchies for my haste in answering but this is still not confirmed.

I still think it will be there though.

Where did Gesink finish in the end?

The crash just after 2kms had AC and co at 38sec - so if they neutralise there 38secs should be the difference in GC

the jury will decide

The french will make sure conti loses time:D

Obviously Contador loses time to the Gilbert/Evans group, but the question is how he finished in relation to other GC guys.

Read my post, he got held up and his bike was broke. I think 3 km rule is being enforced, was the same with VDB2 in the Dauphine

nope

i couldnt spot him in ac group...
i dunno, maybe in between.

i spotted mollema and lls
He was until the last 3km
The question is how serious the ASO takes this rule:

Falls in the last three kilometres

As has been the case since 2005, riders involved in a fall in the last three kilometres of a stage are given the same finishing time as the group which they belonged to. This rule is not applicable in time-trial stages and stages that finish at the summit of a climb.

This was a cat4 climb. If they are literal, Gesink gets the real time, and his bike was broken so that would be minutes....

Btw apart from the actual time gaps that are obviously going to be involved here. Is it just me or did Contador seem sorta resigned to losing the time. It just didn't seem like the Contador of the Giro to me, might be pure coincidence of course but it still caught my eye.
