That's definitely possible. If he shows the same climbing form that he had at the Tour of Turkey and parts of the Giro, he may be able to take yellow. His team would need to control attacks for him though. It's hard to say from looking at the profile whether or not this climb is really decisive enough to favor a Gilbert over a Petacchi or Hushovd.

What about Cunego with his tremendous form in TDS? Can he do something on stage 1 and 4? Surpringsly little talk about Cunego before this tour. He won't be able to hold on in the big mountains and should imo try to get a stagewin in the easier mountainstages/hilly stages.

There's a thread about him and what he is targeting. I think Rojas could pip others but i find it odd that people say Vino could not win. He's won at LBL along with Gilbert and has the tenacity to attack. I'm still confident Goss will win if it comes to a sprint.
