Not too much decided yet. If Contador can get within a minute after the mountains, in the ITT he can still finish it off. The race will just be that much more spectacular within Contador not able to wait as long as possible.

Apparently Contador (read Riis probably) has requested the time difference to be adjusted to 34 seconds because he was held up by the second fall. Jury is expected to decide on this 'soon'.

Thankfully someone grows the balls and the brains to appeal this.

Do you have a source?

Hopefully he gets those steak lawyers on this:p

The dutch news site nu.nl was reporting it. Seems their source is a Spanish news paper. Link.

And if he puts those steak lawyers on this, 'soon' might mean 'before the end of the 2013 TdF'

Yeah, but on a broader scale it's somewhat ironic that the people who have been chanting 'don't blame us, those are the rules' for months now want another set of rules bent (even if that's quite logical and understandable).

Cos its Contador they will overule is appeal. Had it been AS on the other hand...

Anyways, if that 2nd crash truly did slow him down it is only fair if he gets the time loss reduced, cos it was a fall within the last 3km after all.

Ah crap ive been confusing you with hrotha due to the avatars now.

Point being, you are just upset that Contador got you a Rebbelin avatar:p

I don't think they will change it now. They need to save face and it would be admitting they had made a farse of the situation. Why couldn't they of changed this last night. Surely its not difficult.

Bradly McGee said he spoke to the race jury director that night and was told nothing could be done. So they tried to appeal but it would be no use because the rules are there with a precedent and have been followed.

Cadel's team did the job, followed in the initial confusion by RS and OPL. Nice work that's a good enough buffer for their GC hopes. As long as they don't get the same happen to them they should be fine this week. ( Pls not another crash for evans. )

Well done to the race officials. They got every decision spot on, even to the extent of being a bit lenient with the gaps for those that made the final climb but were slightly gapped.

Shame for those that were held up by the second crash, but that's cycling.

Who would have guessed that such a mundane looking stage would generate so much chatter?
