Roy solo, Moncoutie catching Hushovd. If EBH and Thor work together after the climb they should be able to pull these guys back.

Considering the fact that Thor is seen as the best descender in the peleton by other rides if he can limit his losses he and EBH should definitely be able to get back (I'm guessing 1-2 minutes is the max though).

Thor Hushovd, King of the Mountains. Has a nice ring to it.

A great French rider started as a sprinter and ended up a great GC rider, but never won the Tour. Last I heard he was doing triathlons fairly successfully, following his retirements from professional road racing.

A nicer, more positive guy you could not meet, I am told.

I hadn't heard he was considered best descender. I'd have thought that was maybe Cancellara.

Good to see Hushovd and Boasson Hagen going for it in this stages. It's funny to see a fish out of the water:)

I wasn't thinking sprinter to GC guy. That wouldn't be realistic for Hushovd. I was thinking sprinter to rouleur.

EDIT: Who's the French guy?

I'm not sure but I think Hushovd was U23 Time Trial World Champion so he's a more than average rouleur. Besides he's a classics guy so he's a rouleur almost by definition:)

Looking like about a 4 minute gap by the top for Roy and Moncoutie over the seven chasers by the time we go over the top. With 42km after the summit that will be a tough task for the remainder of the break

I suppose that's true, now that you mention it. :)
