Who can tell? He could just be trying to get other teams to push the pace.

You have no problem with him? You haven't been watching the Tour or what. Look, I understand everyone's anti-Andy these days so you might be tempted to be all hip and pro-Andy, but seriously, look at it from an objective point of view.
What's the objective point of view? If he wins it his strategy worked.

Gesink actually did 3x top 10 in a GC

Martin is the one who really failed. No falls, no excuses, and he got dropped like a stone while in perfect position for the GC before the mountains

Martin did much work for Cav, he isn't a GC contender in the tour. And he will never be maybe, just like Gesink.

cadel has said in an interview that vanendert is possibly the best climber in the race...:)

I agree. Well kind of. He was the best climber in the Pyranees but i dont remember where he finished on Superbesse. Its between Vanendert and Sanchez though. Though Sanchez probably because he was one of the Trio into Gap.

Untill today of course where Andy or Contador or Frank maybe take over.

I'm not being pro-Andy as a reaction to the anti-Andy sentiments here, I've liked Andy for years. I was a big fan of the old CSC team and really enjoyed his ride to 2nd in the Giro. His defection to Leopard and his moaning about descents have certainly irked me, but I don't have to agree with everything he says or does to think he is a talented rider who deserves some success.

This board LOVES to bag on riders. A few years ago it was all about slagging off Cadel Evans for everything he did, now the main target seems to be Andy.

The hope for Contador is, that Bjarne wants Leopard to "attack"/start the race early, instead of waiting till the last 800 metres to gain two seconds. What makes me say this, is that Bjarne said earlier today, that he thinks the race will start with 8 k's to go, maybe another attempt to lead Leopard to believe that an earlier attack will be a complete surprise for Saxo.
