Someone should revive his annual thread.
We can read my posts where I say Danielson is finished, he has no guts, etc. Then you all can laugh and point fingers at me. :D

allways cheered for Conta (when Vino aint there ofc :)), but to see him show some humanity today was actually... good, we dont need another "super" human in this sport.

Huge respect to Cadel for limiting damage and Tommy V for keeping yellow.
Sad to see Alberto cracking, I was hoping for a podium spot. Tour and Vuelta next year for him, I hope.

Velits is the only HTC in so far. The rest must be pacing Cav and bulking up the group.

I don't like seeing riders eliminated on time but I hope they get a big point penalty.
Do you all not read?
See above.
Bus of 80, in 2 minutes late. A lot of big names including Cancellara and Chavanel, so expect the result to be all in, no one out.
Cav - 20 points, I expect.

I would agree with this. I think it's a bit much to toss them out of the race, but point penalties would be more fair. Especially when the time gap is this huge.

I sure hope the Tour is not decided by a TT. They should have placed L'Alpe d'Huez after the tt.

It's not going to be decided by a TT. There have been plenty of non-TT stages to take time on.

I think it's perfect this way. It forces the climbers to gamble with attacks or risk losing in the TT the next day. It also forces the diesels to gamble with covering the pencil necks or risk too much time loss.

All in all, this is a pretty good course. The only thing I would have done is replace the TTT with a short ITT. No prologue, though, those Stage 1 races are always a gas.

I'm torn on this...sure a lot of them would be eliminated..but why shouldn't they? If it was 10 guys they would be out...no questions. Like I said...I'm a little torn.

Yes on Voeckler too. I was a bit critical that he wasn't helping the chase at all, though he did make a pull after I noted that, but in the last km you could tell he just had nothing left and did everything he could. Very tired in the interview. Gave everything. Really gutsy guy. I'm actually hoping he's still in Yellow after tomorrow.

come on - its called that you see it..

Everything seem so easy in a back-perspective.

Its a loughing joke, to see all these replys from just yesterdays and today

But a friendly advise "dont bet on predictions"

No I wasn't convinced he'd do well or win the Tour this year, he should've tried the Giro/Vuelta double again, more time to recover from the hard Giro.

Not yet. Porte not either, although he was up there with Andy on the Galibier. He must have cracked big time.

You mean Roche?

So let me get this straight. Cav is not in that big group of 80.

Cav is saved by the fact that the group of 80 just mssed the timecut meaning over 20% missed the timecut meaning hes in. Had the group got there 2 minutes early Cav would be out?

Only way for Contador now is to take between 2 to 3 minutes on all tomorrow. And then ride a good tt.
Still possible.

That may be true...but it totally sullies the green jersey this year.

Calm down. They have the 20% rule to prevent them being forced to evict riders just because the organisers set the wrong time limit.

33 minutes on a stage like today, with a massive headwind, is palpably too tight.

Cavendish will get a 20 point penalty, which is equivalent to giving Rojas the stage win he isn't good enough to earn.

I think Cav is in, no matter where he finishes and how many riders are outside the cut. That rule doesnt apply to him.
