Moncoutie will get a good share of points today even if Roche does that. Moncoutie will have the KOM jersey after the today's stage.

Any advantage to Sky drilling it up the two 1st cats while Capecchi, Moreno, Zaugg are up ahead and of no use to their leaders? At the very least it will make them drop back from the break.

Great to see Seeldraeyers, Roche etc not just trying to get in the break, but trying repeatedly until it sticks. Much, much better than doing the usual fringe GC thing of hiding in the pack and clinging on up the climbs. It might not work, but really who cares if you finish 16th or 22nd? You might as well give it a pop.

And it means that the pack can't soft pedal up the climb. There are too many very strong climbers in that break.
