Watch stage 1 again. Geraint did brilliantly. Stage 3 was poor, yes.

Geraint did very well to recover a bad situation.

Because he had to do that, he was not quick enough on the finish straight, meaning Cav got boxed, had to stop pedelling, drift back, come round and build his momentum again.

Watch it again if you disagree:)

Who do you think will be the winner of the blue jersey, folks?

I think I might wait until we actually see some climbs before making a prediction on that.

Haha, sometimes I wonder why the other sprinter teams make it so easy for Cav.

Farrar's form is just pathetic.

Once again Goss proves himself to be the only rider in the world capable of getting anywhere near Cav.

Feel free to keep the uncited quote in your sig.

Ill enjoy digging up the Renshaw> Goss posts you made, for many years yet;)

Give me one thing they were supposed to do.

It's not interesting at all since tomorrows stage is really hilly and I don't see that ending in a sprint with those sprinters. Maybe Goss but that's already a stretch.
And saturday it's over for sprinters

Exactly, one last chance for the sprinters to grab the jersey, you have to try and find something of interest on days like today;). Not quite sure how tomorrow plays out. Wouldnt surprise me to see some of the sprinters, ie Cavendish getting shed on the early climbs as a breakaway tries to get established. If the breakaway is a quality breakaway, which is perfectly possible IMO given the terrain, then if the bunch catches them they will have to go at a pace that will drop many of the sprinters. I fancy Goss stands the best chance of staying there but then the other GreenEdgers might not be that able to stay up there. Hoping for a decent race tomorrow.:)

Once again, the sprinting field is crap here. Let's see in the Tour ;)

And yes, Renshaw was better than Goss this year until the Giro. Not my fault Goss form was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he should train harder or something to keep this level for the entire season ;) Then again, he has a party beast reputation, so his crap form never surprised me.

Bennati

Great to see Bennati elbowing the Big*Boys. The RadioShack/NissanTrek management doesn't expect anything less. Great

In general:
- make Sky do all the work
- disrupt the Sky train
- isolate Cav from his train.

To be fair Cav today deserved to win as he got over the hills with the main group.

Yes, only problem is you laughed at the idea that Goss was 2nd best in this race

Cavendish wins

As expected - superb win by Cav - No one could touch him injured or not !

Nice too see him and his family too.

And Farrar as third best ;)

Funny how you forget him so conveniently. It was silly of you to assume Goss was the second best sprinter here with what he showed so far this season.

If we're going by palmares then I declare Bennati the second best sprinter besides Cav.

In the leadout when you are trying to innitiate your own leadout that is not as simple as it sounds.
Lancaster tried it by making a surge at the head which briefly had Sky swamped but Stannard made a really good job of riding it through.

Isolating Cav is more of a turn of events than something which a team actually does. It nearly occured in the other stages as there were more sprinter teams and more corners but here with it being straight and the power of the Sky train who effectively kept Sky high enough to be out of trouble and as there were less sprinters contesting it wasnt a likely occurence.

Who was chasing?

The other teams should never help Sky EVER chasing on a flat stage. That way their lead out train will be worse and they have a better chance of beating Cavendish. Sky wasn't chasing today according to Cavendish(only watched the final 3km), so I have to go by his race summary.

I hope the other teams come to their senses and let Sky do all the work in the Tour. I can't wait to see a rivalry grow between Wiggins and Cavendish.

Argos is there to help them ;) They are there for sprints. GE will definitely help too, no matter what you said imo.

Exactly, it is usually won by climbers in the Giro.

Pettachi won it a couple times, Bettini won it, Contador and Evans are all rounders who got points from tts too, so not neccesarily.

Suprised to see LS Haedo finished in the front peloton (but didn't sprint). He climbs better than JJ then...

Bennati won it as well. Could definitely be won by a sprinter this year, but most of them will bail after stage 13.
