Slagter should be ashamed of himself, racing like a junior.

But yay Tom Jelte!

^^that, slagter was strong but raced very amateurishly. this was just like on the muur de huy where you have to wait for the last moment or you will burn yourself out, it his own fault if he didn't tought about it

And some people didnt want them invited even, think they are earning it

Acquarone must have a pretty good crystal ball to predict the season they've had so far...

I stand by what I said

A coward ride by the favorites on the slotclimb, even winner Rodriguez. It says enough Slagter led 3/4th of the climb

Darn, the Butcher was in such a great position on that narrow final 300m stretch, and then he left the door open only slightly, enough for Purito to squeeze through and finish it off. Good performance though, good to see he has found his climbing legs...

Everyone was scared to death of this finish because no one made a move until the last km/500m.

Meh, this is the first GT where he has a free role and can test himself. Let the boy ride it out, every experience and mistake is an opportunity to learn.

I disagree. This is a Gt, the others rode smart.

It's not about being a coward, but about not being an idiot. Purito knows his distance, he knows when he has to go. He's not going to go early unless he absolutely has to. Not his fault if Slagter or anyone else doesn't grasp that concept as well as him.

Now, Slagter was just inexperienced, it's no big deal, and he will have learned lots from the experience.

How about NetApp rider beats Sky?
Nordhaug would've won.

I never really saw where henao and gadret got caught again in/after the downhill. I thought it was a pretty good move, but apparently they didn't stay away in the descent.

Slotclimb :D

I think most of them just didn´t have the legs, they wouldn´t let Rodriguez ride away at 800m with Slagter if they could follow him.

Slagters ride wasn´t the smartest, but he probably underestimated himself. Can you blame him? If someone would have suggested before the race that Slagter should focus on the last part of the last climb, it would have been called folly. Trying to get a small gap on the penultimate climb to surprise the favorites was a decent tactic on paper, it just turned out he was a lot stronger than most of those favorites.

This is possibly the best Polish performance in years. Niemiec at Lombardia was great but Huzarski flying away from Basso, Scarponi, Cunego,(3 gt winners) Frank Schleck, Rujano, Pozzovivo, Uran, Kreuziger, Gadret etc etc etc on a gt climb like that.

I knew he was good, but, wow.

No, they could have done much more with this climb. The fear of the 3rd week is having an iron grip on the favorites.
I dislike racing like this. And I keep saying it's wrong
