The Giro has to stop scheduling these stupidly dangerous finishes if it was to be taken seriously.

Cavendish takes the lead in the points competition i think. Dont imagine that will be much of a consolation though...

Where on earth did Chicchi come from

If I remember correctly someone talked at TOC last year about a street sprint competition and Chicchi was mentioned as a favorite by teammates given how quick he is from a standing start which is almost what that corner created.

Was it Modolo who caused the pile up?
Cav lost all forward momentum and Ferrari got past, without having to take him down, this time.

Cav was tired, but clearly he was also on a way too big gear after he got dropped after the corner. Really slow cadence in the few desperate seconds he tried to catch Ferrari.

Great! Let's make it as twisty and turny as it gets in the last 3kms until everybody has crashed at least once!

Cornering is part of the sport, particularly for a sprinter.
Yeah but teleporting over fallen riders is not a sprinter skill.

The finishes this year have been silly. When there's a crash every single day, you have to start wondering.

Cav had to slow down because he would have crashed into Thomas. He lost the spped and was over geared and couldn't' really get the spped that's why the different style of sprint. Still I think he would have lsot today, but if not that it would have been close.
