It also appears that the 'crashes' in these technical sprint finishes (at least until now) have not really caused 'much' harm (as far as I have seen from the live images), rather inconvenience. Sprinters or lead-outs overcooked a corner a somewhat, took the wrong line, but at a much reduced speed already, because they see/know it's very sharp or tight. The rest of the bunch caught behind them just had to put their foot down.

The sprint finishes that caused significantly more harm (at least until now) were the ones with the fast 75 degree corner in Denmark, where everyone assumed they could accelerate out at full speed (minus Bos ;) and the one on the straight were Ferrari swerved into Cav at full speed.

Did anyone see, today, that on the straight before the technical parts Haedo (?) got squeezed/boxed in, and almost crashed into the fence next to Renshaw?

Theo Bos is on the mend.
He finished well ahead of Guardini and Goss, today.
He'll be flying again.
Just in time for week 3.

4 Androni riders finished behind Schleck, but given "0" seconds.
Looking at who they were, I'd say dropped, rather than caught up in the crash.
I reckon the timings will take a bit of sorting out, yet.

Yep. I've decided I like these sort of finishes. There's a bend in the final? Deal with it, it's not track cycling.

Tell that to the former Red Jersey holder, who didn't even try today from his results. Today's crash didn't look too bad, but the rest of them resulted in serious injuries.

MV, at what classification are you looking? Because the androni riders you mention have time loss recorded on my 'results' page ....

The former red jersey holder took an awful awful line into that turn where he wrecked.

The one posted above earlier.
However, yours confirms my thoughts.

Edit: Checked again and corrected.

No, the guys in front of him took an aweful line. He took the correct one and Pozzato took him out. Pozzato admitted this immediately following the stage.

Rujano lost no time today so I don't know why you have him in red too.

Are we still calling Schleck a contender? He lost 30 seconds yesterday on a climb, and 45 seconds on a flat stage today. Something is wrong with him.

And there is still a time trial coming up where he will lose a lot of time.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA cav, in your face, beaten at your own home :L

fantastic for androni _O_ and ferrari

You said in the Rujano thread that Ferrari was sick.
Didn't look sick to me, because of your information i layed him on betfair and have now lost a lot of money.

Thx! (this was ironic)

The time trial is pretty irrelevant, none of the GC guys can take real time in the TT anyway.

Rujano lost no time today so I don't know why you have him in red too.

Because I don't consider him as favorite anymore. Same thing for Brother Schleck.
Hope it's clear now :D

I've never called him a contender for any race and I've never been disappointed since he never wins anything.

If Frank really cannot do any better, then it's ok. Maybe the brothers are actually very overrated, I think it's possible and would explain a lot.

However, if he's holding back so he can "do well" at the Tour or out of some spite for JB, then... there is no hope for him as a world class cyclist.

he was sick indeed. but he was improving already, I think I also said that. a rider doesn;t stay sick for a full week usually
