Great, great final 5 kms.
Heroes and villains.
Riders off and on their rivets.

RK save of the day.
Frankie boy, silent, but deadly.
Ryder regains the lead, but tomorrow is another day.

I wonder what Ryojano's excuse will be?

Scarponi: Hesjedal is a very good rider. Don't underrate him.
Still I think he'll be in trouble come the steep stuff.

So much with the Rujano is pedalling like a mutant thing uh?

Hesjedal FTW! He has a good run of top 10 finishes in big mountain stages at the Tour. 4th behind Contador and Shleck at Tourmalet. 8th at Alpe d'Huez last year. I think he is gonna take the Giro. Only two guys within a minute of him.

Awesome win by Amador, and well done by De Marchi and Barta. I'll spare Hesjedal, because at least he got the pink jersey, and Rujano, because he tried even though he wasn't that good.

The rest can all rot.

Pozzovivo gave it a crack a few times. I think the slightly neutralised finish really hurt the stage.

Schleck was there somewhere after all apparently.

He was clearly shown riding back to the peloton comfortably within 90 seconds of getting 'dropped' - amazed the commentators just ignored it and then discussed last whether he would have made it back.

Ryo must be in tears right now.
The colombians at Sky must have saved his day. Uran and Henao are now 1-2 in the young rider's classification.

Clever from Ryder. This hill was his terrain. He'll probably get in trouble in the mountains, though.
Yeah, like on the Tourmalet 2010.

Sure, the climb was not a steep one, but the guys were suffering nonetheless. We'll see, but, I'm officially starting to believe he can pull it off, podium at least.

I think riding the Col de Joux instead of Tze Core really hurt the stage.

Personally, I'd have done Tze Core and Saint Pantaleon, then had a descent into the finish in Châtillon, but that's just me.

Even though the gaps were minimal apart from Hesjedal who seemed very strong, I found the stage quite ok.

But maybe I didn't expect that much to begin with.
