think i read somewhere that the roads in Etiopia is better than the one in Norway? might be wrong but im pretty sure it was so.

Well, if we're on that topic the roads in Canada are generally much much ****tier than anywhere I've seen in Europe (or US for that matter). Reasons being pretty obvious (same as Ethiopia vs Norway, if true)

It is actually terrible. I think Albania is the only country with worse roads in Europe, I'm not joking.

I don't see anything wrong with the road there...?

(in the video)

There's not. Just typical Norwegian complaining about roads. :D
Plenty of similar tarmac on small roads around Europe... I've seen worse in south west France.
Thing is, Norwegians compare the domestic roads to Swedish roads, which are exceptional, in general. Some of the autobahn stretches are outright crude by comparison.

The roads round my way are good, and mostly empty of traffic, maybe just the volumes of traffic round oslo + plus winters damage things?

I used to come here for boring chatter about cycling. Things have greatly improved since this forum's main focus has shifted to Comparative Road Building and Maintenance: An International Perspective.

Tarmac quality inspection is one of the main points from the CNforums on the UCI agenda.. :D

I want to congratulate the race managers for including the most boring part of the country in Norway's first ever 2.1 stage race.

Indeed, we have so many mountains in Norway it's incredible that they've managed not to include any of them. Anyway, the 2 next days should be decent.

Fetisoff what is with the obsession with Norwegian tarmac :D.

Anyway. Ahlstrand was very very fast there in the finish, but came from too far back.

I guess the whole tarmac thing should be posted in the CN "FAQ" section. I mean this might just be the first (??) CN meme after all.
