Sagan is a big disappointment. It looks like he is developing as just another sprinter
Yeah, more like an improved Degenkolb. Best at slightly uphill finishes or short steep finishes of less than 1km climbing, more than 1km climbing and he drops.

I have serious questions with Sagan's climbing capabilities

We are talking about a triple MSR and WC winner. What do you want me to say more than he did "good" yesterday?

Well you might have agreed that he almost came round Cav instead of seeking explaintions why he did just "good"?

I remember last year in vuelta he climbed pretty well. also in longer than 1 k climbs. like the one before angliru. I'm not sure though wether sagan has the engine to go for the classics

Cavendish technical superiority over his rivals is even greater than his physical superiority.
Farrar,Greipel are fast but technically and tactically poor.

I do think Sagan's sprint will end up being far and away his best tool, but he can still develop his climbing skills.

Genuinely can't see him challenging Gilbert etc on proper slopes to the line, but he'll climb well enough to get over the proper slopes in order to contest finishes.

He's another "next Freire" imo.

sagan is a lot more stable and consistant than freire. freire imo considering the amount of years he was a leader and talent he had didn't win very much. I also always thought he was overrated in hilly races. except verona 2004 where he seemed from a different planet

"He was very close (to win)", which is what Froome stated, and "almost coming round" is a pretty big difference in my book. I just countered the former, never did I the latter.

OK, let it be so.

Though the length of less than half a bike is pretty close in my view ;)

The gap to Savine has been coming down from 11min now to 5mins with Sky on the front with Ian Stannard. The riders have now hit the undulating section of the stage.

I read somewhere that he gonna skip Roubaix this year and his main classic objectives will be Sanremo and Ronde...

Main objectives will be Amstel and L-B-L. He'll skip Roubaix for whatever reason. Might not thrilled about taking chances on the cobbles after a horrible last year. Could be some team for the cobbles though, Rabobank.

Hows Lars been doing lately. Haven't seen much of him. Didn't he crash?

No, main objective will still be the Ronde I think. Then the Ardennes, as a kind of experiment.

Boom had the Boonen crash in the Omloop, only time I've noticed him this season. He has had three race days or so.
