Get in there Nibbles!
The best man and the only one interested in not following wheels, after the TTT, wins.:)
(Kreuziger still the best looking, lousy ITTer out there.)
Indeed. For once I actually rooted for Nibali to win. Only one who really went for it.

Too bad for Horner...in hindsight he probably wishes he had stayed with Nibali on the climb on Sunday rather than thinking that Kreuziger was his most dangerous opponent (BTW I wonder when Kreuziger will stop to disappoint)...hope he didn't get that idea from Johann "magic" Bruyneel, the ex-smartest DS in the world.

Funny, I remember a bunch of people here praising Horner for his brilliant tactics of preserving his energy for the TT there. ;)

I'm not sure he could have chased Nibali anyway though.

His big mistake waiting to chase down Nibali on Stage 5. He was very strong then and only Krueziger could follow. He will replay that one a few times.
He did what he thought it was best, seeing that Kreuzinger woudn't chase either. But both riders were underestimating Nibali, especially Kreuzinger.

Purito, Di Luca, Vacansoleil... What are you talking about? If you're not up to it yet, you're just not up to it. Exactly the reason why Prati di Tivo turned out being such a bore fest. Lack of proper shape for most contenders. But you can't say guys like Purito and Di Luca didn't try, because they did.

And Horner, well, him not getting dropped like a stone on the climbs is something to give him credit for in the first place. Can't blame him for not tearing the race apart.

So the 2nd and 3rd in the Gc don't even make a Top 30 finish in the deciding TT. That's ridicilous.

What did Martin accomplish in PN again?

Great win for Nibali. Kudos.
He was agressive throughout the race and it payed off.
Horner talked tough, but couldn't deliver.
Kreuziger WTF?! Even Pozzovivo recorded a better time. I expected more from him. His TT-ing has deteriorated over the past few years.
All in all a very nice fortnight of cycling with P-N and T-A.

On to the classics now. Can't wait:D

i read in quite a few interviews, Kreuziger said he choose Giro over Tour this year, because he know TT is not his strong his point

Purito said that Nibali's attack was alucinante, so I doubt it was a matter of 'reacting too late' or 'lacking confidence' instead of Nibali just being the strongest guy in the race. And those words coming out of Purito's mouth must mean something I guess;)

did purito really say that? could you provide a source please (if it's spanish it cool because i also know spanish)

impressive as nibali isn't exactly the most explosive rider of the peloton.

one thing is for sure and we got to give nibali credit for that, he said that he came to this race with more race days then his opponents so he was probably in better shape. good to see he is keeping his head cool and not getting cocky

I read that it was because he loves the atmosphere of Italy etc
Anyway it seems like he is part of the exclusive club of top GC riders (yes) who actually realises his chances of winning the tour is minimal and so doesnt care if he doesnt race it.

Really i don't understand this.
How can somebody like Kreuziger do such a poor TT.
He is in shape. His TT position isn't bad. He's rather big. So what's the problem?

Lack of talent maybe? Everyone's being going on and on about Kreuziger for years now and he really doesn't have a lot to show for it other than that TDS that was not very hard (profile and competition) if memory serves.

But on the mountain stage in this years Tirreno he had to pedal a certain watt/kg, otherwise he wouldn't have been up front. Yet on the TT bike he obviously nearly can'zt produce the same power. Maybe it's a mental problem, too.

I'm pretty sure D_T was talking about Horner, Kreuziger and Nibali since the fight for the win was between them.

In the interview after the race, Nibali said he had a strong headwind (especially in the last straight).
So much that his front wheel would move left and right and was hard to control the bike well.
Interesting? :p

If you watch the video - it's visible that he breaks his natural rhythm every three turn of the pedal to give an extra kick - I said at the time I thought it
look like he was in pain - but may be he was compensating for some mechanical defect - but he didn't twit/talk about any of theat.

He said that his legs were really bad today, he wasn't able to hold certain speed and also that he didn't get to the ideal position, he was stiff and couldn't loosen himslef.

Bus still, he is 3rd overall in his first stage race of the season so why so much criticism? He finished ahead of Rodriguez, Scaroponi, Velits and many more, I don't think it is bad result. Yes, he had one bad day, but like I said, it is his first stage race of the season, he can have one bad day..

What's strange about it?

Rodriguez is always good in Tirreno, Hoogerland had shown great form in the lead up (and he's finally trained with some planning behind it, rather than just riding as many kilometers as humanly possible).

Yeah this must be the first time Hoogerland actually took some rest in the winter instead of training almost 10.000 kilometers

In other words, you're saying Rodriguez is always good at TTing LOL
