Does anyone think chavavel has a chance today.. Looking for an outside bet

Would have to attack before the last climb or the main part of it.
Considering this is the first road stage of the Tour I would imagine it would be pretty hard to gain enough not to be caught in sight of the finish.

Apparently the bunch was halted in the streets of Liège by a protest action (not from the cyclists), no more details

Hence the lack of live pictures.
France 3 chatting up the local loons.

Ooooh Sagan doing an interview in English on Eurotrash.

The break have more than 4 minutes and may actually dare to dream, the great benefit of removing Bob Stapleton from the sport.

We will see Libertine but atm the bunch are controlling the break exactly as desired...

Edit: And there are of course other great benefits to removing Stapleton from the sport which could be found in the clinic

The yellow helmets look absolutely ridiculous. Can't believe ASO thought it was a good idea to make them mandatory.

At first glance, it looks like they are dawdling, but the ASO's schedules are quite "optimistic".
Slowest projected race speed 43kph-fastest:47kph.

Hopefully Samu and Frank will have a go on the next category 4, try and make up some of the time they are going to lose in the time trials. That would have happened in the good old days.

Just like when Wiggins attacks with his whole team doing a TTT for the rest of the stage, right?.
