Yeah, Lotto only won 3 stages this way. In fact, the only reason Sagan beat Greipel in a sprint this Tour is because Greipel's shoulder was dislocated. Sagan might very well win today, but Lotto is by no means being dumb here...

Im glad you know how things would have been if things were different, but somehow Im sure Sagan won´t agree with you, neither would I.
being this clairvoyant, maybe you should consider play more lottery ;)

So spare me the rolleyes dude, Sagan won 3 stages to, Cav 1, but you see liky do any work in front?

Told you the break would stay away. It was clear from the start that GE would not chase today. Lotto doesn't want to do everything alone and Sky doesn't care about whether Cavendish wins or not.

why has the peloton given up this stage? really with a few exceptions (Sagan´s performances, Lulu´s brave efforts, etc.), this TdF is unbelieveably, scandalously boring

Liqui are not interested either, Sagan will wait for a mountain stage

As a result of the bunch not chasing, we're in for a much more exciting final than a bunch sprint.

Voeckler is in the break, so he'll win. Will probably do the least amount of work, but win. It's always like this.

It appears this report was true the way the peloton slowed on that climb/decent and all the sand on the road

OPQS Cycling Team ‏@opqscyclingteam

There was oil reported in the road on a descent, but the peloton was warned, slowed, and appears to have passed without incident. #TDF12

Fedrigo, Dumoulin and Sorensen all have previous in this situation, it's not a clear cut Thomas win for sure.

I always hope for a breakaway win in flat stages, so I like this.

I like a breakaway win when the peloton tries and fails to catch them... not so much when they let them win and cruise in ten minutes later.

Not necessarily. Those breakaway finales are often very boring and predictable as well. One random guy will attack with around 15k to go, everyone else watches Dumoulin (best sprinter) and random guy wins with a comfortable gap.

It´s Greipel´s birthday, so Lotto should be very much in... OGE have not won and keep saying how eager they are to win a stage... Cavendish would deserve a favor from SKY for this TdF... not counting Liqui, they are non existing as a collective
yet teams are showing "a lot of respect" to the fans by not riding at all 2nd day in sucession... probably saving energy for the rest day:p

We can be sure that he is going to make some weird faces, stick out his tongue excessively, play with the camara, and pretend he is totally knackered 15K before the finish.
