Having watched the last few hundred metres again a few times, any criticism of Wiggins is well over the top. We've got the perspective of a shot either downhill or from above, whereas they're at road level and cannot see the carnage until the last few seconds, and considering it had only just happened, that doesn't leave much time. The Sky rider next to Wiggins ran into him and they both had to dismount. I don't think either could have taken any other evasive action BW especially as he was on the side of the crash anyway.

Why did Wiggins steer into the crash? I have no bias, just a problem with the rules, their interpretation and the consequences.

Cav was still in the wrong though. Don't get why Sagan gets **** for his celebration while what cav does was only to humiliate van Hummel.

Agreed. He was overreacting again. "Bokito behaviour" they said on the avondetappe

In the words of now famous van Hummel
Hummeltje heeft er helemaal schijt aan

:D

Caruso's injury looks kinda nasty. Should be able to continue though

I don't think he did. Unless you have HelmetCam you can you see what he saw? His trajectory is straight towards the crash and and soon as he tries to be evasive, he collides with his own team-mate. You can only see that from the overhead shot, not the one down the hill.

Oh c'mon a little scepticism is in order, but let us just try to enjoy the sport.

Yeah, Phil did the same in the Tour. It was the stage where Lulu won and Hoogie/Flecha had their infamous accident.

He had a flat tire in the final 10km, chased back by him self without drafting and won the bunch sprint beating Velits to the line.

You lot should start up your own CSI Crime Lab.

First up:
- Sagan's Celebrations Insulting
- Wiggins Steering Into A Crash
- Cav Taking The Mick Out Of Hummels

Obviously none of the above actually happened, other than Sagan's celebrations, which do not bother me. I can't see why a stage win celebration would actually bother any adult to be perfectly honest. He won the race so he can celebrate how he likes. But hey if this is really the stuff people discuss in cycling then good luck with that.

Looking downhill Wiggins is the rider on the left with the bands on the end of his sleeves.

So why fret so about Wiggins? If he can't manage 700 metres uphill, he's had it in the Vosges, never mind the Alps, right?
Stop worrying about Wiggins and spare a thought for Bikeless Menchov.

Stuck at the crash with a mechanical.
No 3km (or even the old 1km) rule and he would have been out of the GC, just 300 metres from stage end.

Who's fretting? Wiggins can't climb and Deni is his own worst enemy.

There does seem to be a bit of latent angst that on the 2 days Cadel was supposed to take time he got nada.

3 nice calm days now hopefully; where is that thread?

It's actually further confirmation that Wiggins has no hope. He got dropped for 10 seconds 300m into the climb on Stage 3. The third week will be a train wreck for poor Wiggo.

Wiggins can't win a GT because he might lose a few seconds on a short, sharp hill, where he's not explosive enough to go with the puncheurs? Whatever you say.

By the way, Wiggins has just lost 0 secs to Evans on 2 stages where he would have had intentions of taking some time back from Brad.

No Wiggins can't win a GT because he rides like a chump.

By the way, the whole point of this discussion is that Wiggins got dropped and paid no penalty time wise for it. However, I'm not bothered as the reconfirmation of Wiggins' level of suck is worth more than the 20 or so seconds he would have lost today.

Has it really taken the best part of this evening to figure out that it was the slow Greenedge rider that was the cause of the crash? That seemed pretty clear to me.

It's also quite entertaining just how upset the thought of Wiggins winning this race is making people.

I'm not saying he's going to win, but I can't imagine what it'll be like if he does.

Hahahahaha Why don't you tell us how you really feel about Wiggo?

I actually don't mind him. Its his supporters that are annoying. In the realms of cluelessness that was previously reserved for the LA fanclub.

We're only three stages in. I don't read to much into today, except that Sagan is one scary guy on a bike on that kind uphill finish.

Wiggins has not lost time yet. He most likely will in the mountains, but can he TT his way out of it?

Ahhh, I see. Makes complete sense. You should go over to the NBC versus site. :p

What a power show by Sagan!
Ok so everyone got only 1 sec gap... let's be honest... that wouldn't be the case without the crash... there were going to be gaps of some seconds anyway.
Good luck for the non puncher guys I suppose.

x2

I have a hunch that if he did win, several forumites would be so filled with rage that they would actually spontaneously combust.

Congrats to the Tourminator- which sounds ******y but oh well.

I wanted Chavanel to win so when BMC worked to pull him back i hated it. BMC are doing a good job on the front- Sky are as well but not as good a job.

I thought it was an exciting stage but it could have done with less crashes and a time gap created between Evans and Wiggins.

And if my aunt had a penis she would be my uncle.

Point being: it's irrelevant 'if' this or 'if' that. The fall happened, the 3km rule is there. No gaps.
