Hugh

So is it a cross wind or a head wind?

Just looked at the forecast and there is a 20km/h SE for the day which means a headwind climb

I think gerrans will get this one.

As matt white said they were out really put time into greipel and get him out of the picture and to put them in the best possible position in the GC goin into willunga. I think greenedge had this stage marked out because goss has been really off form for the sprints and with mcewen past his best.

Looking forward to seeing how valverde will do though.
GreenEdge did most of the work before Menglers but it was actually BMC who really opened the split.

Its crosswind on the climb and for the route to and from the coast.

Head wind from Mclaren Vale to Willunga, wont matter much on the main part of the climb as protected by hill on right, however the downhill section from the range is a nightmare in this wind, and will contribute to gaps on the last lap.

They are going flat out down there and will be airborne.

It is due to ease later however, but has been very windy here the last two days.

You rather have a dull unspiring race with your guy winning than interesting racing?

My boy...
I never said that. Re-read my post. All I said that a headwind is good for Kohler but a tailwind is good for the climbers.

So, who is going to be the surprise? Maybe it will be lulu sanchez, or rather that he sucked (probably not too surprising though). I really want to see a Valverde vs Gerrans duel. Although I doubt that will happen.

Sky just said that it was a head wind up the hill, which was bad for them because they want to attack.

I cant believe my ears, Ligget and Sherwen just had a quality dialogue about the cycling season.

Rather than follow the usual TDU +TOC + TDF = cycling model, they actually talked about how there are many races on, how WT teams have to have 25+ riders to suit those races.

And to cap it all off Ligget said that many riders would be preparing for the bigger races late in the season, The Tours of Italy, France and Spain:eek::eek::eek:
