This sounds like some teenage cycling fan's fantasy not like what this stage was supposed to be! "Then, Jensie and Horner go on a big break 50 minutes into the stage and then Chris wins by 10 minutes!"

Big break with 4 Radioshack riders.

RadioShack
Christopher Horner (USA)
George Bennett (NZl)
Grégory Rast (Swi)
Jens Voigt (Ger)

Coup by Radioshack. Teammates will help set Horner up at the base of Mt. Baldy. I'd better hope Rabobank and Garmin are awake.

Other riders in the break are:
Liquigas-Cannondale
Timothy Duggan (USA)
Maxime Bouet (Fra)
Mickaël Chérel (Fra)

United Healthcare
Marc de Maar (Ned)
Bradley White (USA)

Colombia-ColdePortes
Darwin Atapuma (Col)

Agros-Shimano
Alexandre Geniez (Fra)

Spidertech
Lucas Euser (USA)

Bissell Cycling
Christopher Baldwin (USA)

Bontrager-Livestrong
Nathan Brown (USA)
Jens! wasn't kidding when he said RaNT will show themselves.

edit: CN ticker thinking the same.

OK, I get the big break, but am I'm I reading the tracker correctly?
In Euro figures, they've covered about 30 kms in an hour and a quarter?

Given that break composition, are they chasing, or letting it go, or was that one steep, long climb they've just completed?

Agreed.
This could prove a very interesting next 2-3 hours.

Anywhere I can watch this live online? :)

Yeah:

radioshacktourtracker.amgentourofcalifornia.com

Right now it's just a GPS tracker with the CN live feed...
In 40 minutes (2:00 PM local race time) there'll be live video too.

Not sure if that works outside the US though...

How exactly does Rabobank, Garmin, and BMC, justify letting this break go?? This IS like some weird cycling fantasy movie...

I know! How was it not shut down immediately?

Whoa! From the shacktracker, Matthew Busche is in the break, too? That is some serious domestique firepower. This could get really, really interesting.

Voigt, Duggan (potential ally) and Busche working for Horner? How in the world did that break get away?

Don't think so. I think they have Busche instead of Voigt on that side of the tracker.
Should get about 40 miles, all uphill, live.
Good.
A long session!

I have a hard time seeing Duggan as a potential ally in that break...
Sure he gives Liquigas a (rather weak) excuse not to chase, but his team leader Nibali is back in the bunch, with Horner up in the break. He shouldn't be pulling through, and definitely wouldn't do it just to work for Horner...
