It would actually be fun to see froome put contador into trouble, just to see the recently elevated egos that have piled up on the Contador-bandwagon get hurt.

**
a Contador victory here at the vuelta will be payback for the oh so painful sky domination at the tour..? or how does it work?

Good for Gilbert. He needs to find some form for the Worlds'.

But I thought that the problem this year wasn't a lack of form, but that the other teams aren't being nice and letting him win like last year.

Gilbert is going nowhere, with Moviestar controlling the gap.

See, it's happening again, today. Fancy them not wanting a guy at 11 seconds to ride away to win and take the leader's jersey.;)

Why is Movistar taking responsibility for the chase? Cobo won't be there, Valverde is quite obviously not good enough for the GC, Castroviejo won't survive this in the red jersey and Quintana, while he might well be with the very best today (and I expect him to be), is not a favourite yet when compared to the likes of Contador. Shouldn't they be leaving the chase to Saxo and Katusha?

Kind of a rhetorical question, since Movistar's tactics tend to make little sense.

Cobo at the back collecting bottles - an indication that he isnt fancying his chances this year
Another indication was when he ruled himself out at the presentation ;)

Hoping to see Sky set up the train and Contador smash it.

Which do people think is stronger, the sky team here or in the tour, climbing wise?

On paper, the Tour climbing squad was rather weak.

For riding own tempo the tour climbing squad was much stronger. For reacting to others attacks, this Vuelta squad is much stronger. So it all depends what sort of climbing you want to do - they probably got the squads right...

It was much stronger for tempo riding in June. If you'd asked in January you'd have got a very different answer.

Could be doing a Liquigas.

Either that or Quintana is going to go H2H with Contador.
