my point on doping is extremely simple - a doper is not a doper until caught in the act. contador was caught and had a trail of suspicion before. or you offer to call a doper any rider?

I was just arguing your line of reasoning. You mentioned doping in one sentence with his performance, which made me believe you think superb performances are only possible with the help of doping. That's why I asked about Andy.

As to that last point, I reserve the right to look at each case individually and form a conclusion. It's not as black and white as you think it is.

but nevertheless it is the most democratic and neutral appoach, i guess, cos after all most of us are not specialists in sport medicine, doping experts or riders amateurs to know about this side of cycling more. almost any other approach is doomed to sink in personal preferences.

In some cases it does, but in most cases I'm able to approach it with objectivity.

I just noticed Frandy has gotten permanently banned. I don't know why. *sadface* I kind of feel for him. :(

Because he came out with the kind of lingo usually found only in tv prison dramas (or maybe also in prison).

Why don't you (blank) my (blank) you (blank) (blank). Something like that;)

Do you accept Contador is guilty? If not, what objectivity is it reasonable to talk about, in case you don't trust CAS that know about the story much more?

CAS verdict said Contador didn't take doping to cheat. Game over for you ;)

There's a difference between wishing failure and predicting failure. Getting 102th in a prologue is a disgrace for someone who wants to win the Tour.
Yet another memorable quote by Andy:
"I didn’t have such a good feeling in my legs today but don’t take this as a reference, this is my first big competition of the season."

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/schleck-paris-nice-time-trial-was-too-early-and-too-short

Then the races he did earlier this year, should not be a reference either because it was not a big competition?

Seems like currently he is so weak that even doesn't have enough strength to keep an aerodinamic position.

Seems more like he doesn't have one LOL! Ever heard of Ockam's razor theory?

Tony Martin wasn't having a good day yet there was nothing wrong with his position on the bike. Bad excuse...

For sure, but what has it got to do with that? What would you say in his place? I think in regard to such a high-class time trialist as Andy bad physical conditions affect on everything, including his position.

That, like always, I would manage to be in an impossibly better shape during the Tour again, because I'm Andy Schleck and I'm the master of peak form...

Something like that, probably...

I wouldn't say anything, I'd actually work on my time trial. Something he CLEARLY has not been doing.

He has a mercy on you. ;) It's too early to stun everyone. Let's wait for July.

For real though, I'm glad I didn't put money on my earlier prediction that Schleck was going to win the Tour this year.

It's the same old Andy. I'm sure he's trained "hard" during the winter, but compared to guys like Nibali and Wiggins? Probably not.

Wiggins is initially a narrow specialist in 5-10km TT's. Very likely, Evans would've lost about 25-30 sec there.. Hopefully, a hard training starts today. )

andy is and will be fine.it's early spring ,he's drained out right now
i think he can top ten both itt's but still he will lose huge time to wiggins, cadel and menchov, something like 4-5 minutes.the only questions is if he can take it all back in the mountains.

He won't even top 30 in the early time trials. In the last time trial he might sneak into the top 20, but that won't mean much. He'll lose a lot of time. His time trial position is worthless and that isn't heavily affected by one's form. You have it or you don't.

It looks like he needs a bigger bike.
Isn't Wiggo about as tall as Andy? Yet it seems his saddle is about 5cm higher than Andy's, or even more. I think that raising the saddle alone would tilt Andy's torso into a more horizontal position. Isn't this one of the basic tricks in setting up the TT-bike?

Biomechanics obviously set limits, but no way Andy can be that unflexible.

WADA wanted to let a witness testify, but only anonymously because the witness was afraid for the consequences. It was about 2005-2006, and Alberto's team argued that it wasn't relevant.
