yes they are a formidable group that will frighten more than one challenger. Let's see if they intimidate the 2 banks guys

Or lets see if not AC sends the UK postal a postcard saying:
"See ya at the top guys, I put on the kettle"

Or cos he has a high personal aim of winning Tour the Denmark which takes place during the Vuelta. Or maybe Bertie just badly wanted his three amigos to all be there at his site (for the first 100km at least, before his amigo el gordo get dropped like a stone)

I recall there was an article that mentioned Contador wanting Morkov on the Vuelta squad. Wish I could remember where I read it.:(

The Vuelta is starting to look mouthwatering, that is a very strong line up from Sky, with at least 3 that can mix it up in a big way on the climbs

Awesome team for Sky.

I don't think we will see UK Postal though, the other three will help Froome but also try to maintain their GC position. Hopefully 4 in the top10!

and luckily, these are all the Sky guys who are aggressive and fun to watch :D the "B" Sky team is much more exciting

........The Great One will return, and he's not happy.

He wants revenge.

How many stages will Contador win? (more or less than 8?).

How many minutes will he win by?

How many tdf contenders will back out of the 2013 edition after seeing this display?

How many riders will finish outside the time limit on Bola del Mundo after Bertie flies up it like Apollo 15 on take off?

Wow, how things have changed since this thread was started. Now everyone is wise after the event saying 'the Great One' didn't have enough racing miles in his legs after the ban. Guess it all proves AC is human like the rest of us. He can still win this Vuelta but he's up against time and an on fire Purito. Even if he can pull it off it won't be the decimation some here predicted.

I expected Alberto to do better than this, but actually the only factor preventing him for beating everyone is an amazingly in shape Purito.

Definitely Alberto is human and not a laboratory made robot a-la Armstrong or Wiggins, which makes him more liked by everyone except for those who don't know about cycling or who are blind by their fanboyism.

I actually think he has done as well as expected considering the ban and everything. It's just Rodriguez is in the form of his life which is even better than what he showed in the Giro. With this Grand Tour, plus the Worlds and possibly Lombardy in Contador's legs I think it will stand him in good stead going into the start of next season. I am sure he will probably do San Luis again and do the programme(Tirreno Adriatico, Catalunya, Pais Vasco, Dauphine) he was supposed to do in the lead up to this year's Tour. He will be in his top shape by then with his racing rhythm back and I am convinced we will see the Contador along the lines of the 09 Tour and Giro 2011 for next year's Tour.

There we go again about next season  THIS season is what's important now, not next

No need to get your nose up and to take it out on me because Contador might'nt win the Vuelta. Relax. I already said I thought he would'nt win the Vuelta because this race came too soon for him to get back to his best racing rhythm. He admitted that himself the other day. You even had your own worries yourself after the Arrate stage.

I only made a prediction going forward to next season because in my opinion that is when we will see him next at his best. Can I do that now or do I need your permission to do so?

It just annoys me that everyone is saying "well at least he'll be good next season" Yeah, and next season he will crash and he'll be out for 6 months and he will only be able to ride the Vuelta but he doesn't win but hey at least "he will be good next season". And so it goes on until we get to the point where there is no "next season".
