Am I the only one who think that find stupid the situation of average audience of cycling who understand now Contador performances are result of doping and expect regular next results from him?

Says someone who has got an Andy avatar. Totally makes sense.

lol. Most of you, Contador's fans, like bashing Andy for any reason, just like an essential atribute of rooting for him. But now you're surprised that, unlike you, someone doesn't make a tragedy out of his ban.

Omg, you're all right? Who the f*** cares if someone makes a tragedy or not? You're friend comes in a topic, and writes the world greatest doper crap. Nobody wants him to make a tragedy, but maybe he just should shut up here. If he got a problem? Go to the clinic, nobody cares. And after him, comes you and continue this, mostly because you can not accept that nobody cares about Andy, but Contador, who will be always a better cyclist. Oh, and you should applaud for Andy's first and latest Tour de France victory.

You state that as if it's fact. Saxobank have a contract with him. They can choose to annul it (assuming it has a release clause for doping offences) or they can choose to honour the contract, with an eye on him competing for them at La Vuelta (which they'd probably choose to do, given the rest of their roster and lack of other quality riders without a contract).

Or are you implying that there are some rules which mean that Saxo and Contador are forced to annul their contract?
Surely they are obligated to annul his contract now he is banned. Remember all of the brouhaha around Valverde training in Movistar kit last season. It would be bizarre if a banned rider was allowed to continue receiving a salary during their suspension.

I think they'll arrange something so that he doesn't receive his salary, but isn't fired. Riis said last year that as long as it's a case of accidental ingestion he won't fire Alberto. I can't see how that would've changed during the year, especially because Riis enjoys working with Alberto a lot.

I even think that he might extend Alberto's contract with one, two, maybe even three years. As someone has stated earlier on this forum, Alberto might have to settle for a lower salary the years he can't earn points.

I don't need anyone who cares about him. But it is really ridiculous how his fans (i don't mean you personally) try to belittle Schleck even more after announcing ban as though Schleck was guilty of Contador's catching. It looks like a stupid paranoid fan jealosy. If you are his fans, learn from him how to accept the things you cannot change with dignity.

Assuming he remains with Saxo, or even goes to another team, I'm interested what his race programme could be, between the 6th-18th of August and the start of La Vuelta.
He ain't exactly spoiled for choice.

Tour de L'Ain or Eneco Tour and then Clasica San Sebastian. After that he'll become Belgian and ride the Belgian time trial championships :D

He doesn't have any other possibilities now that Poland takes place in July and he's still banned when the Vuelta a Burgos starts.

Maybe - just did a quick google and it seems that, although he is not entitled to more than a month's salary during the suspension (not sure how this works with a retroactive suspension), the the team is not actually obliged to fire him. This just going by a model UCI contract.

Excuse, off-topic... But I'm curious..

Who is this girl in your avatar picture? Is she a cyclist?

there are no riders that can be more important than sport itself and even equal to it. Riders come and go, sport is eternal.

This part I agree with...I've followed cycling for 45+ years...riders come and go, cycling is eternal. If I got emotionally invested in every ban I've witnessed in 45 years I'd have had a heart attack a long time ago!

I look forward to the 2012 Vuelta and if Alberto is on form he will demolish them :) For he is indeed the most gifted of the current crop!

And he accidentally happens to ride for QS...

Too bad I have been a fan for a much longer time :)

Nice argument though, people still think I only like Leipheimer because he rides for Quickstep even though I was one of the few to be glad he won the Tour of Suisse :) But keep thinking that.

What's the reason I like Contador for by the way? Is Saxo a Belgian team? If you got nothing good to say, just shut up.

Right, because despite being a fan for a long time, your avatar picture is him in a QS jersey.

There's also zero evidence from your posts here that you've been a fan.

So yeah, cut the bs.

Because you looked through all my posts right, lol.

Contador will need to decide whether to continue riding professionally. 4 GT titles is a great career achievement, but he could probably win the Giro or Vuelta a few more times if he works hard and the top competitors focus on the Tour.

I think that Tour/Vuelta double is always a possibility for him in any given year
