Sagan and Phil ready to do battle again at Amstel. Great and deserved win for Sagan. :) Would be nice to see Phil get his first win, but a deserved win by Sagan.

Sagan  An almost impossible way to win, but he pulls it off.

Gilbert looks improved a lot. The Gold Race will be hard with a Sagan at this level, but at Liège he will be a top favorite.

Not if Sagan rides it ;)

Gilbert wheel-sucking the entire final, yet still can't beat beasty Sagan

He should have wheel sucked for a bit longer, he might have been able to win if he had. That said, Sagan deserved it, incredible ride to bring Van Avermaet back single handed and still have enough left for the finish.

Tough to say, Sagan must be getting tired at some point, right? The lack of Roche aux Faucons should suit him better, but we'll see. I rate him higher for the Gold Race than for Liège at this point.

Did you get that, everyone? How to win:

- burn everyone off your wheel but Gilbert
- beat Gilbert in the sprint

it's quite easy, when it comes down to it.

Sagan is racing too much, I doubt he can keep this until LBL.

If he does, next year he will win Strade Bianche, MSR, Ronde, Amstel, GW, Liege.

And the year after that Roubaix. lol

He's not riding LBL and FW though ;)

Sagan looked like he was doing it easy when he rode up to GVA. Maybe Gilbert could have delayed his sprint a bit longer but it would not have mattered I don't think.

I thought it was a good lesson by Phil on how to secure 2nd place.

Lol, You can bet that if he wins Amstel he will race one of those. Nothing to lose.

Just like he would've done roubaix if he had won MSR on Ronde.
