Valverde lost only 10s, if he hadn't wasted himself he could've challenged. And Contador was a lot better than expected.
By now, you should know what the Spaniards are trying to do on this race. Maybe it's time to read other stuff than Gazzetta.

''And there is the assasin!!!!!!!!''

Really, Froome dawg, you should have given the stage to Busche. Way to get the peloton against you.

Lol, to Contador you wanted to say?

I'm surprised, I thought Froome was only known as Froomedawg on here, as a sort of joke nickname. But Carlton Kirby said this was a great ride from "the man they call Froomedawg".

I think his girlfriend/wife (don't know if they are married) came up with that nickname.

Literally only tuned in, in time to see them come across the line. Why does this race have to be on so early?  Will have to watch the full stage later. Good to see Contador still has some decent climbing legs though, and see him not going down without a fight. Froome still looking like the #1 favorite for the Tour.

Looked like a good ride by Busche too, was he from the early break and managed to hang with Contador and Froome? And looked like Dennis put in a good attempt to defend.

They caught Busche with ~300m to go, so good ride definitely but it wasn't like he hung on for the last 2k or something

pretty awesome finale. just like i said le tour will be amazing. both froomey and alberto showed how much of big champions they are. i liked also valverde's attack,it was cool
next stages, watch alberto try chris more and more. he won't make it here but in le tour he will be stronger and stronger

the speed by the way was very high but expected when a strong team like sky push the pace from the bottom to the last km

Contador is showing signs of life, his team is strong, and I still think that he will win the Tour. A lot will hinge on the next few weeks. The Dauphine has never really been a test for the Tour, in my opinion. It was hard to see him do so poorly in the ITT, but that makes me think that he's in the middle of some kind of training cycle, and not recovering well.

Froome just took the stage after a small effort from some opponent that wasn't challenging his overall victory. (It was nice of Porte to let him.) I was impressed with how well Bertie held his wheel, almost.

so basically the only way for u to be impressed by a rider's performance is if they do a totally impossible EPO-style attack to beat the worlds top climbers by minutes.... LOL
Should I be impressed by the rider who's allegedly the best climber winning a MTF in the last km?

Funny to see that EBH, Lopez and Kennaugh finished together at 9 minutes. While Geraint Thomas, who was dropped LONG before Kennaugh, finished at 4 minutes. He was clearly trying to defend his GC position, instead of saving energy like the others. But he still dropped down to 25th overall...

1st time it was used was by Geriant Thomas on twitter i believe

enough with the 'but froome only won 12 seconds' bs. That was a) in 1km b) it's modern cycling, mountain stages are about seconds difference, not minutes

And adding to that Froome is already by far superior in the ITT... where are they going to gain back time? There are no Tirreno-like stagesi n the TDF and there are no Nibali like riders

Nice to see Contador rebound after yesterday. Rogers doing very well too. Am far more optimistic regarding TST's Tour today.

if a top climber like Froome winning a MTF comfortably against top opposition doesnt impress u maybe u should find another sport to watch. if u wanna see miracle performances go look up some EPO era racing on youtube

Also the gap was coming down very neatly by 10 seconds every km from about 5km out. Clearly someone sitting in the Sky car was telling them the speed to pace at to catch the leader in time.

Boring, but as long as we have radios that's what'll happen.
