2013 Critérium du Dauphiné, Stage 7: Le Pont-de-Claix Superdévoluy 187.5 km

I was wondering if froome could break pantani's record tomorrow but they don't do the full ascent so we'll have to wait for july for that one :(

Can Contador take revenge? What will Valverde do and when will Froome make the final move FTW?

Samu

Seriously, he has nothing to lose and the profile fits him, but he didn't look very good yesterday.

Someone to escape from the clutches of the Sky train and take a solo win. Maybe a Europcar rider, Voeckler maybe if he's not too tired from today.

I expect Contador to give Froome more of a battle too (although I think Froome will handle it just find). And Purito to redeem himself.

Looks like a proper mountain stage :D

Sky Train going to be tested to its limits here I think. Other teams need to get into their heads before TdF, this stage is a prime opportunity. Hopefully some Saxo & Movistar riders in the break tommorow.

What's the descent like from Noyer? Would Contador try and test Froome's descending or avoid taking risks?

EDIT: Had a look. Its slightly narrow but well surfaced and good visibility and barley any tight corners - nothing challenging.

Final climb is fairly exposed and shallow. I think an early strike for home on Noyer would get reeled in before the end. Looks very well tune to the Skytrain

If Puritonl feels good would love to see him attack on that 10.6 section and even if he is caught I think that would leave Froome alone for the last ramp up

Purito for stage win.

Contador to attack Froome. Froome defend until 1km to go before unleashing his full power and gain 7 to 20 seconds on Contador.

I wonder of Froome would be confident enough of his lead that he would end up trying to support Porte retaining 2nd place.

If we have a serious break going on the Alpe, forcing high pace for most of the day, this could become a must see stage.

Regardless, its time for the stars to earn their money.

Leopold will be ready:
