what does that matter? in 2011 gilbert was in ridiculous form. he's not anywhere near that so you can just as well forget that ascent

Well, it matters a lot.

That's like saying "Oh, 100 metres doesn't suit Usain Bolt, he was just in rediculous form in 2008 and 2012". If someone has the record at something, surely he must be suited to it, right?

Based on how he went up the Cauberg, I'd say Phil is ready to go. Not saying he'll win but he'll be right there.

Forget about it. :)

I tried to like him, even more so as he was banned for weeks, but there are people in the world who just take pleasure by provocation. Wasted time. :)

A teammate is waiting for Contador after having a flat tire.

That means he's gonna do something :D

"Much" is perhaps too strong, but Gilbert's results thus far this spring have been better than last year's.

results don't matter. it's how you ride, not being able to drop gerrans on the cauberg is equally as bad as he was last year when he couldn't follow sagan and gasprotto in form.

I agree,he is stronger ,I was just surprised with the word 'much'.
Imo he has best chance to win it if Purito is not ok.;)

Yea i mean he was only the strongest on the cauberg outspeeding gerrans and valverde

he wasn';t outspeeidng valverde at all. valverde was again placed horribly before cauberg. I'm sure he rode evn ahrder than gilbert. and gerrans? lol thank you for proving my point.

Whats the expected finish time? 5pm-ish??

52km to go, so around 17:00 CEST.

Must say that the weather is far better this year - last year I sat on the Mur at 150m to go with the temp around 10C and had to dodge passing showers - nice and sunny today.

Did you watch him racing last spring? He looked terrible.

he was 5th in agr and 3rd in fleche. pretty similar to now. beside sthe point is, he needs to be in 2011 shape to actually win on mur. in 2010 he was much better then this year and he wasn't close to winning on the mur either
