I see Contador's point, it's much easier than the 2011 edition he won. The double will be a piece of cake this year.

What does Contador know about the giro route anyway. He spent what time they showed of that joke presentation learning to bake a cake with Nibali Cav and Hejsedal.

The Tour is steeper.
yes overall. But since the Giro has a lot more apm points I guess it has a more irregular distribution of gradients (that is quite usual for the italian climbs)

I'm only being stupid... last year someone said the Tour was harder because it had more longitudinal km of climbing.

Regarding the field... As a cycling fan, I'll be very disappointed if we don't see Wiggins - Contador duel in a GT they both ride to win. And that's the bottom line of each my comment about the two.
This Giro is great opportunity for it.
If it doesn't happen this season, I hope it will next. Giro, Tour or Vuelta, it doesn't matter. Only that they're in top form and riding to win.

I would think that they, as the competitors that they are, want the exact same thing, to prove themselves against the best in the sport. It makes the victory in the end that much more satisfying.

Interesting. How many "true" flat stages are there this year?
Perhaps Greipel can be enticed as well.
true flat stages?
....
two. 6 and 21.

other possible bunch sprints are stage 12 and maybe stage 1. that's all.
