not sure if you guys are serious, even Guardini won a stage last year so why shouldn't Kittel do the Giro?! He can go for a win in stage 6 and everything else is a bonus

First Argos need to get their sprint train sorted out. They absolutely suck so far this season. And sprints are the only stages they can win.

Train's been fine on a couple of occasions - just Degenkolb looks to be about 25% short on Vuelta watts.

And the reason why is probably because he is building form and is at 75% of his 100% Vuelta form.

Whilst that is a stunningly obvious observation, it's also a little odd for someone to have peak watts that reliant on form; suggests he is very much a classics man who sprints rather than a sprinter who will have a go at the classics.

this post explains pretty much you don't have any idea how sprinting works...

Degenkolb riding the Giro would make much more sense than kittel.

Also agree with the poster who said Ferrari (Lampre) will ride.

I remember him saying it, but can;t find a link.

Source that both the Sky Colombians are riding the Giro? Wasn't one of them going to help Froome in the Tour?

More ridiculous than even I anticipated, what is it now?

Wiggins
Uran
Henao
Porte
Cataldo
DLG
Dombrowski
Kennaugh
Knees

?

Maybe if both Colombians are going they save Porte for the Tour, wouldn't seem right sending all three of their best domestiques. Only Siutsou would be fresh for the Tour (+EBH/Thomas)?

I get the feeling that they may have told a dozen or so that they are going to the giro and want to create a bit of inter-team competition for places

Kirienka said he's going to the Giro too. As for now, 9 of them have explicitly said they're going to the Giro. otoh, Cataldo didn't say anything but it would be surprising if he's not going.

Maybe sky are sending a 10 men team :D

porte is also doing the giro and kiriyenka too, he's insteaf of kennaugh and you should pretty much have the line up for the giro. insane team because wiggins is scared s***less

I'll rephrase it then, I think theyve told more than 9 people that they are in the running for giro selection. Its not gonna totally mess up their seasons and they did it for the tour last year where pate, uran, flecha and xandio were in contention.

I guess Sky will be looking to use their train to stamp out as much of it being a exciting race as they can. I hope the climbers will be able to derail it.

On the contrary, Sky train is a million times more exciting than Cannondale train (or whatever comparatively poor team Astana show up with).

At least with the cannondale train other riders have a chance of breaking away. And Astana at least will probably be setting Nibali up for an attack. That's more exciting IMHO then Sky neutralizing everything.
