Wiggins quits the race (Sky Twitter).

Not really surprising. I'm just bummed that Uran perhaps missed a golden opportunity when he was told to wait for Wiggins on stage 7. I cannot in any way imagine that that would be the right decision to make.

I think Goss has a good chance here- it is evident he is using this Giro as training for the TDF after suffering after M-SR.
If not i would like to see Weening or another rider i like take it from the break.
Sure it will be a good stage.

Hmm, Ventoso for his usual win. Could see Battaglin or Gatto getting it too, that would be good for my CQ team. :D

Gatto is indeed a good choice. He's been improving.

Who won the sprint to pull out first: Ryder or Brad? :(

well, lets see what Sky can do supporting Uran now. Hopefully they still want to win the race. Plenty of opportunities ahead.

Quite sad to see a defending Champ leave like this.

I don't have a problem with stages like this, but I challenge all the people who complain about boring sprinter stages to explain to me how this is less boring.

Isn't this a sprinter stage?

Persoanl preference really, but on stages like this its more unprdictable who will be in the break, and whether the break will spring it out and we have a sole winner, and then there is a chance that the sprinter teams will be able to close it down and the tougher sprinters till battle it out. Overall: more unpredictable.

Not really, Cavendish and the other awful-climbing sprinters will have a very hard time to get over the hill at the front imo, especially if their teams have to chase the break for 200km before that.

Yeah, I've changed my mind on this stage as well. I actually find it very unlikely that it will end in a bunch sprint.

I find this a very interesting stage. Could be the early break stays away, could be a late attack, can't even rule out a large sprint.

Agree with everyone mentioning Oscar Gatto - this is tailormade for him. Manuele Boaro also a longshot chance.

This could turn out to be a terribly boring Giro, but I have faith in Evans and Uran to light things up!
