1.8km is pretty far out given the finish is so steep, rod would attack probably closer if anything on something like this, nibali attacks more with a kick then keep power down, his to lose for sure now, no way even fit wiggins would have coped today.

IMO Nibali did not fight for the victory, but he did not gift anything: Santa is faster than him, and you can not gift something that it's not sure that you own.
