Then it's just you who fail :p
They're not the same person!
Michelangelo Buonarroti, aka Michelangelo, the guy who painted the Sistine Chapel, was from Tuscany.
This is Michelangelo Merisi, aka Il Caravaggio ;)
Then your right I don't know him
I did however recognize the motive of the picture :p

PS: Italian art is overrated :p

Giro doesn't have HC, so shuffle your Tour categories up 1 to compare to Giro categorisations.

I didn't know that.

Thanks to you for your superior knowledge.

Joking or not you could've at least spelt it correctly FFS

We'd better talk cycling so...POZZATO FTW
(he's gonna win sooner or later, isn't he? ISN'T HE?? I can't believe I still think he has what it takes )

Home town boy for tomorrow's finish isn't he? Perhaps he's been saving himself all Giro for this one stage?

well that's strange. Dunno about elsewhere, but in Italy he's always referred as "Il Caravaggio", I thought it was the same in all the rest of the world too

He's known as Caravaggio elsewhere, but most people will probably think that is his real name instead of an Italian town. Kinda like how Cancellara is an Italian town, but also an Italian surname.

Are there other arts that matter?

The great Vlaamse Primitieven of course.

There's also of course the great art known as merda d'artista.

Praying for Gatto to wake up tomorrow and deliver from a reduced sprint. He's only got 2 chances left where he could grab a stage win in, he better not f*ck them up! Although I suspect they could both end up going to Cav.

The GC contenders with a shot at the podium would be wise to try to make good use of tomorrow as well.

Don't know wether Cav can get up that hill, despite not being a long one it's very steep in the middle. I wonder if he just goes for the intermediate points but then he runs the risk of Evans being in the lead group at the finish and taking some of those points back.

Then again nobody expected Cav to win last Fridays stage so who knows.

How the hell is that hill a Cat4? I'm sure i've seen hills in the Tour that are about half as easy as that being Cat3 climbs.

I'm sure I've seen hills like that in the tour being Cat 1's. A small bit sarcastic but the Giro is a different animale altogether.

I would normally say Cav stand no chance with a hill like this, but I was mistaken last time, Quickstep will chase any break for Cav and the GC guys will have a little fight, Betancur and Evans will surely have a go. Evans FTW. He needs to gain time somewhere.

If Evans does have a go on the climb it might not all be bad news Cav. There is still 16kms from the top and 9km of flat. Astana and possibly Sky (Uran still wants 2nd) would then have to help chase with OMQS. This of course completely relies on Cav still being in the bunch and not being dropped.

OPQS did absolutely nothing on stage 16, they nursed Cav up the final hill in what can be seen as a training run for 17. 16kms from the top of the climb should be more than enough time to get him back to the group. At that point who is left to challenge him?

This is the stage in which contenders will do absolutely nothing. Just saying. They are waiting on the TT on thursday.

Good evening all.

Just so i understand, this is the Giro stage 17 thread right? Small debate re Cav getting over the hill,uh-huh,so...why is it..why have i delved into an intellectual discussion on Italian art? Was always more of a Tintoretto man myself, love the "Origin of the Milky Way"..powerful piece.

Cav makes it over the steep little hill for me.Wonder what Cav makes of the Gavazzi situation,no stranger to a tow himself...

Yes sir, this is the stage 17 thread. Had to go back a check, myself.:D

I think Cav will makes it over the hill as well.

If Cav can't make it over (and I think he probably will) then this stage looks ideal for Sammy Sanchez. He's been frisky lately without being able to make a move stick, and at about 6 minutes off the GC podium no one's going to be too worried if he takes a minute or so.
