Would be out of character but maybe Cadel could push the pace up the climb to get rid of Cav and also see if he can do something in GC.
That will help him win the points classification and the way Nibali is looking, that is likely to ben all he can win.

Praying for Gatto to wake up tomorrow and deliver from a reduced sprint.

He looked excellent yesterday but he went full gas to drag Santa to the finish line. Don't know if he's got legs today.

If there's no GC action Vini Fantini should just go on a team attack on the hill and then TTT all the way to Vicenza.

Nothing is prob gonna happen GC-wise, that flat part kills it. Especially knowing what the next 3 days are.

As I live in this area and I pass by those roads pretty often, I can say that this stage is getting very underrated.

When the peloton will enter Sossano, the roads will still be pretty wide, but then they will suddenly turn into very narrow (something like 3 meters) and that means 20 kms to go till the start of the climb; in those 20kms the roads will be all left/right, up/down.
GC might not change, but if in those kms any of the GC contenders is caught behind like a puncture or mechanical, the cars might be waaaaaaaay back the peloton.

At the moment the skies are blue and it's supposed to stay like this for whole day.

And this is what Im talking about; you can compare the car size (it's an Audi A3, not an A8) with the size of the road.

Interesting, it could very well cause some problems. A crash and everything could turn upside down.

Don't you think that guys like Visconti, Felline, Gatto or maybe even Ventoso or Di Luca are better pics than Cav for the win? We're talking very narrow roads on a climb way steeper than Poggio.

Felline yes, the others haven't shown much, the pressure's off Visconti, and Di Luca should be staying with Santa for the rest of the race.

The final 2 mountain stages are more than likely to be gutted though.
The uncertainty over the rest of the week gives a real problem - hopefully the riders have more idea than us what's ahead of them so they can plan how to share out their efforts. No meaningful racing on Friday/Saturday must mean Evans and Uran would take some extra risks today.

Haha. Marcato has said that this is his stage, but don't you think that the climb is too hard for him as well?
