Yeah I just watched it again, so there was maybe a 2" gap between the first group and the 10" group and another 2" with the 17" group...pretty stupid to view that as a "split" honestly, whether it be for Wiggins or anyone else, especially when there was an incident in the last 3km.

It's really a "technicality" that doesn't reflect how the race actually went down...pretty ridiculous. If they really want to give split times, they should start counting from the end of the previous group.

I didn't know you're new to cycling. Welcome and enjoy this sport...

...newsflash, it's normal for people to voice their opinions in forums, especially in light of a petty interpretation of the rules.
You didn't even know this rule existed until it affected Wiggins (that's how much you cared about it), and now it's a stupid rule that needs to go.

The whole thing is pretty transparent really.

That was my opinion too.
I don't know why but insults are not allowed, especially directed to mods.
...and mods (admins even more so normally) should know better than to make fun of other members (hence my original response that I edited) that's original for sure...next time you'll think twice before doing that hopefully.

I think today's stage is one of the rare occasions where if the peloton raced harder up the climb that the time gaps would have probably been less significant

Wiggins crosses the line at 6:12 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vSmKolR19Kc#t=372s

There's a clear gap in front of the Lampre rider.

I don't see any insults in the message you quoted, but now we know we have an administrator who pokes fun at other members, that's original for sure...

To be fair, you used F word against Eshnar, then you modified the message to delete that part.

Sounds like the Wiggo group was already behind when the crash happened, hence they didn't get the same time. Pretty simple.

that is what I am trying to figure out? Where did the crash happen? If it is way back the peloton, then it definitely showed the weakness of W.

Sorry but making jokes isn't forbidden here. But insults are, so it's you who should be more careful about posting. Another mod would have already banned you.

A joke <> making fun of another member.

UCI jury president Hervé Brocque addressed the incident with the media after the stage and said that officials had looked back at transponder data to determine where the time breaks should appear in the results sheet.

“Wiggins was already behind at three kilometers [to go],” said Brocque. “After the last 3km, we had all the time checks thanks to the transponders. We saw who crashed. We had the time at the 3K and finish, and we gave back the time to those that were left behind.”
