Intxausti will get valuable info from Dowsett. Got the feeling he's going to keep the lead.

Kessiakoff 1:49 behind at first check. I expected more from him in this type of TT.

he is not feeling to well, + he must save energy for the next couple of weeks. If this had been the last stage of the giro, he would prpbably done much better

1 MOV - DOWSETT Alex(GBR)1'16:27"
2 BLA - CLEMENT Stef(NED)32"

Clement also takes a huge chunk of time on the last climb

Some really odd Wiggins speculation going on in this thread. I think people are reading far too much into his 'form' from these opening days. Pretty much all his time loses so far have come from being behind or involved in crashes. No need to be right at the front for frantic finales at this stage in the race. I really can't see him not taking the stage today and large chunks of time too as previously expected. He's only downfall today could be the rain again.

Why did he get dropped on a short climb? That is the question.

takes 27 seconds on the climb. that is going to be a crucial point for the GC men.

Enough of a grouping near to Dowsett's time now to suggest that a top guy could go considerably faster.

Obviously subject to weather etc.

Benat said Nibali is a better tt specialist than him.

down to earth about his opportunities then.

Dowsett said on twitter that this tt was the hardest he had ever done.
That's not surprising  Only the Giro 2009 TT was harder in the last years.

If Wiggins is on top form and its a big if from what we have seen in the last few days then he could put huge time into some of his rivals today and maybe only leave 1 or 2 in with a realistic chance of winning the Giro, I'm not convinced he is in top shape though.
