Well, his card to play for this Giro was always to be distanced before the mountains and get some freedom for successful escapes in the mountains. So nothing wrong about his situation at this point so far. Same for Delfino.

IDK, if neither of them were interested in the GC they could have dropped WAY more time by now. They have 2 weeks to ride themselves back up the overall on the + side, though.

You making stuff up again?

it's not my fault that some people believe that the ventoux record can be broken in a relaxed training ride for fucc sake

i only caught something at processo. wiggo going with his bike through the journalists and photographs and they seemed to shout and applaud ironnicaly. maybe i was wrong though and such a thing didn't happen.
wiggins kind of lost any popularity there anyway, lance was 100000x more popular in 2009.

Evans said post stage that he was very happy with where he is on GC but said the later riders had some unfavourable wind conditions in comparison to riders earlier on.

I got eyerolls for suggesting that earlier

How would he know what wind the earlier riders had, did he ride the course twice?

Do you need to ride twice to know the wind directin at different time???

they have team people on the course monitor things like this, then relate back to the rider

The right call yesterday, for the team, would have been to have just Uran helping Sir Wiggo.
Nah, should have been Henao. Uran would have been in pink. Henao is only ahead now due to some ttt shenanigans.:p

Only because Kelderman crashed today is it still within reach :p
White was always going to be decided in the high mountains, imo. Could be some huge gaps there.

pity about course being so big that only handful of riders really were covered, did even get see santambrogio come over line or any check points and hes got great podium chance.

Nibali rode well and delighted for dowsett, leaving sky and acheiving hasnt happened to many

Alex leaving SKY, kudos to him. If he stayed there, he probably will not appear in this year Giro.

nope, mostly because Kelderman will lose half an hour on the climbs :D

no, I honestly think Kelderman will do well and be a good support for Gesink, but those hard stages after three weeks will be too much for him. Same for Majka most likely.

Evans was quickest on the climb to the finish - another good sign for him.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/giro-ditalia-evans-moves-up-to-second-overall

Although he did not realise it at the time, however, Evans can take heart from the fact that he was the quickest rider on the final 3.3km climb up to the finish line outside the Villa del Balì. The Australian covered the drag 5 seconds quicker than Wiggins, 6 seconds quicker than Domenico Pozzovivo (Ag2r-La Mondiale) and 8 seconds quicker than Nibali.

It was important to save something for the climb. Hit that with an empty tank and you'll use tons of time, as it is all the GC guys measured their efforts pretty well (apart from Ryder who seemed to get too excited early on).

Yea, i just calculated it as well, little guy was flying out there, a shame he lost time earlier on.

maybe because he ride slow before, so he has energy to go up quickly. Ryder is the example on the other end of the stick.
