In theory Andy should be the best TTer in the world, he had an FTP of 440w
It's not all about watts

but hesjedals bike position, mental toughness(going through pain as if the devil is chasing you) and lack of fear make him a ton better, those 3 you need more than anything in an itt

In theory Hejesedal should be a realy good TT.
A big 70kg + rider who is fast in the mountains, which means he has to pull high watts. If he simplypulled those Watts in a TT, too, he'd be among the best TTists.
Really wonder why he didn't deiver his potentialin a TT so far.
For the same reason why Gesink didn't deliver in flat TTs until a few years ago. He's also a 70 kg rider. But both of them weren't aerodynamic. And both of them have changed their TT position.

Nibali improved quite a bit on his SPECIALIZED bike than his old Cannodale

if I got a nickel for every year the hordes of nibali fanboys in beginning of the year come and say he improved his itt again, I'd be very rich. at the end of the year we always conclude he hasn't improven anything

Again, don't get confused by the map.
It's realy not that technical. This part of the TT was done during a road stage awhile ago.
These are no stop and go corners. It are sweeping corners hat can be done at high speeds.

When it's dry and on road bikes possibly. Today I very much doubt it

I am not a fan of Wiggins racing style at all but I hope he delivers a good ride today.

Some of the criticism he gets on this forum is totally unwarranted and it was shameful to see some people excited that a top favourite loses time in a crash yesterday; it is not fitting of the attitude of true cycling fans.

We all support the riders we like (I for one will be rooting for Kiserlovski and Kruijswijk today), however ultimately I want to see the strongest riders fighting it out equally.

Anyway provided there are no significant after effects for either Wiggins or Nibali from their crashes yesterday I still think Wiggins will win the time trial comfortably.

The course suits someone like Kessiakoff who is a fairly decent climber but good tter and bike handler and I think he and Keldermann could be 2nd and 3rd between 45s and 1.15s behind Wiggins-

If everybody has the same weather I expect Wiggins to take between 1.30 and 2.00 on Nibali and Hesjedal

Something like 2.00 - 2.30 on Gesink, Evans and Intxausti.

3.30+ on Scarponi, Pozzovivo, Weening etc

The reason some like me are happy he loses time is because now it will be more competitive no one is happy that he crashed.

I'd like to see a technical TT if this isn't one.

To be honest all/most of the corners in the first part are mostly gentle.

The most technical corner I could find:

On that basis, will all the people who were happy Wiggins lost time yesterday be hoping that he is on form and gains time today? I doubt it somehow.

Yes, i hope he is on form and that makes this TT very interesting. Could be a cracker. You prefer he dominate the Giro?

Does anyone have info about Phinneys health?
How bad is it? Will he ride hard or just soft pedal today?

Why would he soft pedal his only chance of a good result at the Giro?

I hope he wins overall, and if not that he competes throughout. And I agree, a close race would be far more interesting than domination.

Some other people here seem to want him to fail miserably, starting today.

Some folks have obviously forgotten Hesjedals strong ITT last year, he is >70kg and climbs strong, so the watts are there and he is no andy schleck.
Wiggins is obviously demotivated, i doubt he has completely lost the form he showed at Giro d Trentino just some weeks ago.
Nibali struggled after his crash yesterday, might not be 100%, and even if he is and he's riding his new SPECIALIZED bike, he's gonna lose time.

Wiggins (if he can keep his nerves)
Hesjdedal +1:30
Nibali/Evans +1:50
Scarponi/Sanchez +2:50
Pozzo +3:40
Gesink???

So many people overlook him. He's actually had a timeloss/crashfree first week

Welp. I made it through today's brutality! Looking forward to the TT, not entirely sure what to expect but I will give it my all regardless!

Blanco are hedging their bets. Gesink and Kruijswijk will start on an aero road bike, Kelderman will ride a TT bike.
